2019 Concert thread

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul next Friday. Walter Trout in Aug. Crack the Sky in Oct. Boz Skaggs 11/19. UFO and Blue Oyster Cult together 11/1 I think.
Last time I saw Crack the Sky was in the late 70s. It was a killer show in smaller space.

Dale Watson next week.
Got a pair of free tix for Dude from Oasis/Zombie Smashing Pumpkins the week after.
Going to see more reunions in the fall—Lush in Oct. Vivian Girls in November.

Contemplating Riot Fest, but my buddy wants to go on the Slayer/Gwar night and I’m inclined to go on the Bikini Kill/Patti Smith/Nick Lowe night.

Saw Yes last night. Hung around for a meet and greet. Carl Palmer played with his ELP Experience, backed up John Lodge and played with Asia as well. He signed a drumhead for me. Great guy. Steve Howe was phenomenal as always.

Last night's show was an event to benefit a local transitional housing & substance abuse rehab facility as well as a local children's theater.

Bob Odenkirk was the emcee and he brought a bunch of Better Call Saul friends—Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, & Michael Mando—and a bunch of improv performers to deliver one of the enjoyable evenings I've had the pleasure to attend. I laughed until I was physically aching.

Also, I have no idea where Michael Mando disappeared to during this group photo.

So far John 5 and Uli Roth for what's probably the 7th time. Checked Stones tix and immediately decided against.

Wish list: Dinosaur Jr.
I saw Uli a couple months back. I think it was my 5th. I was a little bummed he left Fly To The Rainbow off his set list.

Actually missed that due to allergy attack. 40 bucks down the drain. Still never saw him do Speedy's Coming. The last time I saw him he did a killer "Sun In My Hand" that melted faces.

Steve Howe never gets enough love. Killer player.

Funny story, last year the band was walking up from the restaurant next door, I said to John Palumbo, "You look familiar" and he grabbed my shoulder and said "So do you". Hilarious.

He did Speedy's Coming and Sun In My Hand this last time. The sound was not so great where I saw him. I enjoyed his show at The House Of Blues a few years back more. Plus he had Rated X with Joe Lynn Turner and Carmine Appice open for him. They were great. They did lots of Rainbow and Deep Purple songs. their version of Burn was epic. Their guitar player did Ritchie Blackmore justice . He nailed the leads on Kill The King.

Philip Glass and the Ensemble are going to show Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance with live music on September 22. I need to see if Carol wants to go, otherwise I will go on my own. In the meantime I picked up two free tickets for A Conversation with Philip Glass on September 21. I am a big fan.

They said it was The Long Goodbye two years ago. It got longer! It may be your last chance to catch Deep Purple with Gillan, Glover,Paice ,Airey, and the man, Steve Morse. Their 2019 tour continues.

The Deep Purple post seemed to shut this thread down. Maybe a gourmet burger is more your speed? Dont forget the double Bacon, as in Bacon Brothers. I have no idea how they sound. Hes a fine actor.

I've never heard the Bacon Brothers, but they play a club near me pretty often. They usually do 2 nights in a row and they always sell out.
