2019 Concert thread

Audition tape for Chris Robinson Brotherhood:

"Can you look just like me?"

"Like you, sir?"

"You know. Greying homeless guy beard. Uncombed Jesus hair. Tinted aviator sunglasses. Clothes from Good Will that are always wrinkled."

"Uhh... I guess so. Can I play some--."

"You're in... new brother."

What a drag it is getting old.

Wondering if you're @dmn23 going to be at Sebadoh?
Highly unlikely but you never know. I'll have just gotten back from L.A. and then I've got another trip and a couple more concerts lined up in June. I'm spending money like I have it and I need to reel that in.

Jimmie Vaughn June 22 Bloomington, IN
Foreigner Evansville, IN Aug 13 (this is for the wife)

Going to Indy Pridefest in a couple of weeks. Lizzo is going to perform. I have no idea who or what a Lizzo is.

Considering seeing Willie Nelson and Bonnie Raitt in Cincinnati. Not sure I want to be part of a Willie Nelson crowd, and Cincy is a 3.5 hour drive.

Yeah, plus a few ("Hospital", "Outdoor Type", "Break Me") from Car Button Cloth.

It wasn't a terrible show (I've seen him put on a terrible show). But he did apologize for the state of his voice and consequently didn't come out for an encore.

Checking Setlist.fm, it looks like they haven't played anything from the 2006 self titled album, which I really liked. That's too bad, but it's not like Ray or Come On are bad, so it should still be good.

Actually, that NYT article turned me off within about 8 paragraphs. Also, Evan really grew up around Hingham, not Essex.

That writer knows absolutely nothing about the topic on which he is writing. Good job, NYT. I'm sure he just graduated Columbia and came cheap.

Are you heading to Sebadoh? Lou is not going to be profiled in the NYT by a ball washing douche who's never been out past 9pm. That I can assure you. However, he is an amazing songwriter.

Yes indeed, my Rolling Stones concert in Jacksonville has been rescheduled for July 19th. It's going to be hot as a mofo, but such is life.

Didn't help. :annoyed:

Anyway... it wasn't a terrible show. The band was tight, and Jimmy Buffett worked the crowd and played all the expected hits. But damn, I've never seen so many middle-aged dudes in Hawaiian shirts in one place at the same time. They cleaned out the racks at Forever 71 for this shindig. :parrot:

Might go to this Friday night.

I'm going next Friday to the State Theater in Falls Church. It's only $25 there, so you could save $20 and hang out with me and some of my friends if you went to that one
I may just do that. :thu: My daughter lives within walking distance of the State, so I always have a place to park.

After checking with my master scheduler (aka, the Mrs.), I realized I couldn't make the 6/14 show, so I went last Friday. It was more convenient anyway, being about 5 mi. from work. Paul was looking very sharp, and turns out he can play guitar pretty well too.

Enjoy the show on Friday. :thu:
