2018 Concert Thread

I may go see the Jayhawks Thursday at the Birchmere.
Such a great band. I haven't seen them in years, probably not since they were touring behind Rainy Day Music. I would have loved it if Ray Davies had taken them on the road.

I saw them 2 years ago, I think. It was an awesome show. The Foo Fighters were playing around the corner at the Black Cat that night. I guess their show started later because Rami Jaffee was at the Jayhakws show. When Gary saw him in the crowd, he told him to get up on stage and join them for Blue. Rami popped back up on stage for a couple others. Karen didn't seem to mind sharing the keys with him, I guess maybe they toured together at some point when Rami was in the Wallflowers.

Last week was Neil Young solo at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby (pop-up concert) on Monday 10/1, FANTASTIC, and Jimmy Vaughan and the Tilt-A-Whirl band Wed. He's better than ever. Going to see Sonny Landreth later in the month.

Saw The The a couple of weeks ago.
Saw Jade Bird the other night.
Robbie Fulks is this weekend.
In November, going to see Lucinda Williams in a small club. I’m a big fan of her music, but I don’t know how great she is live. Even if she’s not that good live, it will be a fun evening.

Are the seats at the tower still awful?

sons of kemet were sweaty and transcendent. Waaaaay more intense than on record. I almost drove up to Madison to see them again the next night but couldn't quite swing it with my class schedule.

Sounds like every time they come to town for me. I hear about it, and by the time I try to get tickets, they are sold out.

I saw them eons ago...like 2007 or so @ the north star bar in Philadelphia. They had some gear issues and Ben Nichols wound up doing a song or two unaccompanied while the rest of the band and venue sorted out the issue. It was a pretty incredible show.

Me and my Rush concert-going buddy Joe are gonna try and see Kansas tonight. Neither one of us has tickets, but the venue web site doesn't say it's sold out, and they were advertizing tix still available earlier this week on FB. $60+ though :(

The Descendents were awesome last night. I highly recommend them if they come to your town.
