Holy crap. Jeff Beck and Trombone Shorty are going to kill. Blue Rodeo's great too, but I haven't seen them in almost twenty years.

So far I've only got the Pumpkins July 25th. Got REALLY great seats.
The rest of my annual concert money was spent sending my parents to see The Eagles in Orlando this past weekend for their 45th anniversary.
Between those 2 shows, I'm freakin broke.

I missed the Unknown Mortal Orchestra show on Sunday because I came down with the cold from hell. Bummed because I keep missing them and they're one of my favorite newer bands.

On the upside, last week my buddy invited me rather last minute to go see John Prine at Levon Helm's barn in Woodstock, NY. It was a weeknight, and quite a bit of a drive, but I couldn't pass it up as I love John Prine, and it's pretty hard to score tickets to a show at Levon's barn. It was totally worth it. I had seen Prine before, but only as a solo act. This time he had a kick-ass backing band. The barn is an amazing venue. We were in the balcony, but no matter where you were, you're never more than 50' from the stage, or from the line-array system system which was like listening to a big, hi-fi stereo in, well in someones beautifully built barn, I guess. To top it off, they were filming for a Prine documentary that night, so maybe my ugly mug will make it in.

I'm going to see my favorite guitarist tonight!

Kamelot headlining, w/ Delain, and Battle Beast
I had a great spot, they had a raised section behind the mixing board, and had a very nice divider thingy for people who stood up there to lean on, it was much more than just a railing.

My spot was right in the middle of that, right next to the opening that the sound guys used to get in and out of the mixing boards area. Anyways, when Kamelot came out, above guitarist Merel Bechtold suddenly appeared right next to me and was taking pictures and filming kamelot's set on her phone, for the first five or six songs, then she left. Seriously, she was right next to me :) Cuter than a bug in a rug, and she's only about 5'2" or 5'3", a tiny little thing.

The concert venue, Concord Music Hall, was very nice, and the sound was fantastic. Very good acoustics in there, and the sound guys kept the volume down to just the right level. All three bands sounded great :)
