Next stop: The Scientist. Trust me on this.

Will check it out :thu:

I got through The Pretenders by The Pretenders this morning.

Really really enjoyed it. Surprised me, I don't particularly like them as a band but it was really cool.

Up next - Joy Division :)

Really great album. 'Tattooed Love Boys' has such a cool, oddball time signature and breakneck guitar. IMO James Honeyman Scott was the stylistic link between James Williamson and Johnny Marr.

Miss Jefferson, folks here in the Twin Cities miss you bunches but we knows U been muvin' on up there in LA ............... come back soon .............

James Honeyman Scott was amazing - the loss of him and Farndon was so sad. Those first three Pretenders albums are incredible - sustained excellence, straight through.

"I shot my mouth off and you showed me what that hole was ... for." If you were a teenage boy juuuuuuust past the snickering age, that was a straight up bucket of cold water.

Every now and again, I need a Townes fix. Recently I've been noticing just how wonderful his guitar work was.

98. Stereo MCs - Connected - good. Really takes me back to being a kid but it gets really samey after a while.

Haven't listened to it in ages but I really liked their Deep Down & Dirty album at the time and it got next to no attention, at least over here.

When this came out in 1978 I learned basically the full album; played Gibson SGs then.
To this day one of my all time favorites that I never tire of; a beast of an album. :headbang:

90 - IGGY AND THE STOOGIES - Raw Power

Led Zep up next. First ever Zep album I'll have listened to
