WTF: The Third Installement Of The Thread About Nothing

Went to the movies earlier with my friend. We saw 42. I know it's been out for a bit but it's worth seeing. Great story, good acting. I can't recall any baseball movie being bad. Field of Dreams, The Natural, Eight Men Out, Bang the Drum Slowly, Bull Durham, Moneyball, A League of Their Own. All good movies with baseball as the background. 42 stands with the best.

I'm not so sure that it's a transmission problem. I just had my trans fluid replaced last month so it's nice and red. The trans is full. The oil on the floor is more brown than that. My engine oil is full. I'm not sure what it is. But it is oily in nature. The car has 117,000 city miles on it. But it runs well. I'm not going to be too worried about it.

Have you gotten under the car to see if anything specific is leaking? Could it be break fluid? WHat kind of car is it?

Had a long saga with the Hyundai Accent. Transmission went out. Called Acme, local junk yard. They had one, said it would be two weeks till they could get to it. They work on cars too. Said great, make me an appointment. They said no, you have to bring it in, to be in line. It did work, just wasn't going into high gear, really needed it, so wife could put to work, couldn't be without it for two weeks.

Told my sob story to Fernando, he "knows a guy". He did it the next day, for 2/3 the price. Went to Acme, picked up the trans, dropped it off at Fern's friend's shop. Called me, "transmission has no reverse". Brought car back to Acme. They would get to it, and see what "the guy" did wrong. Week later, it is a bad trans. Don't have another, have to order from another junk yard. Called two weeks later, all done. Went to pick it up, puddle under car. Looks like ATF. It's dripping really bad, but it's on the passenger's side. Trans is on driver's side. Power steering hose was leaking. Don't blame them, it was old, rusty, shitty. Also, they warrantied their trans, and did the labor to swap out, without making money on the install. Just a huge PITA being without a vehicle for a month.

you checked your trans when it's running right? best way to know whats leaking is to see if you see any residual fluid on the engine or under it somewhere. One drop of fluid creates a spot on the ground larger than the drop, if that makes sense, so either fluid can still be full if it is only a few drops every day/night depending on how long it's been leaking.

I bought a bstock Douglas 7 string 27" scale the other day, it came with a different defect than in the description, the defect was supposed to be that it wouldn't intonate because the bridge was installed incorrectly, but it intonates fine. He still has 10 or so more if anyone is looking for a cheap foray into the 7 string world (that's why I did it, just to experiment with 7 strings). It's $90 plus shipping from R-ndo. The defect on mine is that the trem hole/collar/thing came apart so I have no trem unless I get another piece for it, it doesn't matter though as I was planning on blocking the trem anyway. I am planning on getting Ken to rewind the pups eventually as they are pretty muddy.

After much consideration, I think I've decided to sell a good portion of my collection. I'll keep the Heritages and 1 Carvin as well as my semi hollows and a couple of Teles. I don't play much else. And I've grown to really love Les Paul types. But the Reverend, the Peavey Strats, and everything else goes. Anyone want to buy a guitar?

Lets see em. :poke:

^ Cool. Looking forward to what you are selling.

My Egnater Rebel 20 arrived today. I'll check it out either tonight or tomorrow. I have to change some speakers around in some cabs. The speaker in my Champ XD is buzzing some and I have a 10" THD speaker installed with a adapter in one of my 2x12's.

X - let us know about the rebel. I almost pulled the trigger on a Traynor Dark horse. But I read high gain was not its forte. Figured I was better off with the Tweaker.

But I did buy the first guitar since last fall. First guitar I have bought since my two dogs passed over last year. And it is...

I had been looking at a gold top for awhile. HM had these pretty reasonable.

While not a huge Schecter fan, I could certainly live with that one, Woody.

3 hours into work and my laptop's hard drive started hanging up with errors. Tried to reboot but it is on death's doorstep. POS Dell laptop!
No desktop support during night shift, so I hope they replace it during the day Tuesday. I'll have a few days of ap installations after that.

I'm on an unused system for a few minutes to catch up on emails, etc.

Been fooling around the Rebel 20. I changed some of the tubes as it didn't have the original tubes in it but cheapo Chinese tubes. So far I'd have to say that I like it better than the Tweaker I used to have. At lower volumes the cleans are better and there is more gain available. I have it running through a 2x12 with a Red Fang and a Wizard. So far so good.

I'm liking a lot of the new Schecters.

In addition to the Heritage, I got this Ibanez Artcore AXD-81 today. I removed the pickguard since it was just taped on. I had a GFS Mean 90/Dream 90 set lying around that I installed. This was $180 well spent.
