WTF: The Third Installement Of The Thread About Nothing

X - HNAD missing extra stuff. Worse case you return it. The Carvin SX300 came with a footpedal and I find I use it all the time.

PK - HDArtcoreDay

I did indeed sell the Tweaker. It has its fans - but at the end of the day, I found it was "not all that". Honestly the Carvin V3M blows it away on pure tone, and certainly power. I would almost say the SX300 is superior in a lot of ways.

In the mean time the SX300 continues to amaze. One of the three channels has a "Blues Drive" - brings out the mid's. That really gives me another amp tone to mess with. It is not a modeler - just does emulation really, really well. I have always kind of passed over the SX series in the past. Who knew.

Good to know about the sx300. Looked at a sx200? online some time ago. Couldn't hear one in person, only found reviews, and youtube videos, so I passed. Price was right, and it had Emi Legends in it. Now I'm wishing I rolled the dice on it.

Hi Bob - The SX300 is 3 channels - the SX200 is two channels. That is the big difference. I knew the SX series existed. I was doing a google search on best solid state amps and in one thread - could have been My Les Paul, or Seymour Duncan forum - someone mentioned the SX as best value in a SS amp. I started reading about the SX - most reviews were very good. Then I saw this one on GC Online - I thought the shipping cost was too high - called them and they knocked $25 off. That pretty much sealed the deal.

I saved a thread on SS amps, maybe it's on the laptop that when you turn it on, it doesn't show everybody's desktop, only, "other user", and nobody can log in, and get to their desktop. Anyways, I do have this one,

Ever since I got the Princeton Chorus, I've been snatching up some great SS amps. Last two I've got from GC, shipping was $12, and some cents. The Ampeg, http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/showthread.php?47890-One-Ugly-Ass-Amp-Ampeg-G-212 weighs a ton, 80? some pounds.

Not a bad day today. I sold 6 hard to move guitars to a local shop. He bought the Cort, Xaviere, AXL, Epi Firebird, and 2 Ibanez. Next week he promised to buy the 2 Maldens. I still have a bit more work to do on those two.

As much as it pains me, I think I'm going to return the ESP to GC. I really like it. But I don't need it. I have a Washburn that is similar. I think I'm also going to sell the Artcore AS-73 that I received this week. I bought that on an impulse. I have other semi hollows. I don't need that one. I need to be selling guitars right now instead of buying them.

PK - which Maldens were you selling? A bulldoozer? What else? BTW - I did look over your other group. The Reverand intrigued my - but I stayed strong.

I just returned the Washburn Idol and the ESP X-Tone to GC. It's only 3:20. It's been a long day for me.

I was working from home and it was a tough day. Spent most of the day racing around on a project we were about a month late coming into. I was able to get away for 20 minutes in the morning, and 14 minutes in the afternoon.

I have another amp I'm considering - and possibly a 2 x 12 cab. I made a list of what I have now. On paper it does not look like much - but when I count them up - I got eight amps. How did this happen?

Bob - you are a true friend.

Speaking of which I played the Classic 50 just now. Have not played thta for many weeks. What a tone beast. And (surprisingly) not too loud for home use. Can't sell that one.

I down-scaled last week by selling 3 amps. I might be getting a new one on Sunday. I loves me some amps.

The ESP semi that I posted above is haunting my dreams. I returned it yesterday because I need to scale down. But this one is just eating away at me. I'm trying not to cave.

Hey Woody,

Do you have the 4x10 or 2x12 classic 50? I picked up a classic 50 2x12 in shambles a few weeks back and resurrected it. Absolutely killer amp. Did a quick demo w/it when I got it:

Sadly, since I just got a mesa express 5:25, I don't think I'll be playing this one much.
