We’ve applied for passports for the kids so we can take to live with family overseas if things do get bad. But I’m not expecting things to get too ugly for with Trump running things. What people are forgetting is that Trump is already in power. By 2020 there will be no threat of opposition from congress, the military, or the courts. And the US isn’t a developing nation where the economy will collapse if oil prices drop or the government gets sloppy with power plant maintenance. So there’s no need for all the radical/crazy/violent shit other authoritarian leaders have to do to take and hold power. At least not until Trump dies and it’s Eric vs. Donald Jr. vs Jared and Ivanka.
The one horrible change will be the mass enslavement of illegal immigrants through the federal prison system. But there’s nothing I can do about that. I could try raising money to help illegal immigrants get out before they’re jailed, but then the sanctuary city crowd would just drown me out for being a racist.
