Media reports in the last few weeks have suggested the FBI had sought a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance court (Fisa) last summer in order to monitor members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials.

The warrant was first turned down but then approved in October, according to the media reports.

There has been no official confirmation and it is also not clear if this evolved into a full investigation.​

I think the problem is that political parties do a shit job of investigating their own administrations. Good luck getting the Republican controlled Congress to look into any potential wrongdoing on the part of anyone in Trump's administration.

I lol'd at the AOL thing too. I didn't even know they still had AOL. I can imagine him sitting down at a 486 PC and listening to the "You've Got Mail" sound.

The fact that the VP has an active AOL email address is just fricking hilarious.

TBH though, I'm never surprised when I hear about politicians using their personal email accounts for work...it's something I've seen at every place I've worked over the years.
People, especially low-tech types, get really frustrated with all the security and complexity of the work email systems & the first thing they ask is "how do I forward all my work email out to my yahoo/google/hotmail/AOL/etc account?" It's what they're familiar with and can access anywhere on anything connected to the internet. They honestly don't give a hoot about the inherent security risks.

If his staff are being investigated then I think we can assume the investigation includes Trump because investigators will need to know if Trump was giving the orders. That might not extend to actually surveilling Trump.
