Yeah, it's an awesome one.
Stepping aside from national politics, I managed to work Splawn amps into a discussion on our local FB page, regarding choosing whether or not to support faith-based businesses. A woman (that I think is a Tyson Chicken secret operative) is losing her shit on me and it's kinda funny.

So last night, I was watching Hulu. It seems the republicans are running an ad now talking bout their great healthcare program they are going to produce. Of course, there are no details, just a bunch of white people doing everyday things and some buzz words across the screen. So 8 years in and the only thing they have done about healthcare is make a commercial. Well done, you guys are earning those pay checks.
those assclowns are going to 'repeal' ACA and then suddenly find that NO ONE in the country has health care, because when they get rid of ACA and the laws that go with it, companies will no longer have to provide heath care to their employees. the insurance companies will have the opportunity to say "hey, we'll insure you....for $20,000 per year".
the whole industry will turn into a giant money grab, and american citizens will go bankrupt trying to stay out of the cemetery.
these assclowns have no fucking idea what they are doing. they are opperating only as a knee jerk reaction to obama and the ACA that they vehemently opposed, but never had the votes to stop. now they're in charge and the first thing they can think to do is something that will fuck up the economy for a generation. thanks a fucking lot.
on the brighter side, after 4 years of these greedy oligarchs.....it's likely that republicans will have great difficulty getting elected. they're not going to be able to simply blame the democrats and get away with it. if they get rid of ACA with NO PLAN IN PLACE.....it's going to be on them and it's going to be obvious.

There was a strong correlation between states where the drug industry is concentrated ― such as New Jersey, Washington, Pennsylvania and Delaware ― and Democratic opposition to Wednesday’s vote. A cynic might conclude that industry influence had something to do with the outcome. Not at all, the Democrats told HuffPost. They were only concerned with patient safety.
Seven of the Democrats who voted against the Sanders-Klobuchar plan ― Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Chris Coons of Delaware, Robert Casey of Pennsylvania, Tom Carper of Delaware, Maria Cantwell of Washington and Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota ― all defended their opposition by arguing the bill didn’t address consumer protections for imported drugs. (The others didn’t immediately comment.)

Given Canada's existing approval requirements & pharmaceutical safety track record, that defense is really weak. No surprise that most of those Dems voting against the bill represent states w/ heavy pharma industry & are among the highest recipients of campaign money from pharma companies. Booker better watch out, progressives might figure out he's not really the guy you want leading the charge.
