whats really insane is that now they are relocating these poor kids all around the country. we deported their parents and now expect these kids to just be good people in this country.

the whole point of this based on trump's own words is that we are helping gangs like ms13 get bigger. so his plan is putting highly disgruntled and traumatized kids all around the country? i wonder if they are susceptible to becoming gang members now that we have stripped them from their parents?

Wait, so how does that work? Did people pay no sales tax in the past or will they have to pay double sales tax now?

The rule before was you only paid sales tax if the business had operations in your state. As the buyer, you were supposed to pay the state their owed sales tax, but nobody actually did it. The buyer will have to pay their own state's sales tax at the time of sale now. This has been coming for years, and should be a surprise to nobody. But the specifics of how the services are rolled out will be interesting because each state will have to pass their own legislation. So it'll come on slowly and anger everyone differently. Like mongooz who feels this is a partisan issue, even though the decision was written by Kennedy.

"The court, in a ruling authored by conservative Justice Anthony Kennedy...."

Yeah, seems fair enough that that "hole" gets fixed now. It would make more sense to do it like the EU does it:

Business to business transactions: the recipient of the service/product is responsible for paying the VAT/sales tax to the country the receiving branch (so not hq) is based according to local percentage. Both parties need to have a valid registration as a company.
Business to consumer: the business is required to pay the VAT according to the rates in the country the product or service is delivered from to the country it was delivered from.
That way the burden on individual consumers, who are likely to "forget" or forget it is light enough so the online economy doesn't get burdened. But businesses are expected to be knowledgeable enough to manage paying where they're located.

Having individual customers do that by themselves and checking if they properly did it seems like a ridiculous strain on both consumer and state...

Hmmmmm. A pack of tooth-challenged, cousin-porking neo-Nazis/Confederates in Washington DC, a city with a strong minority community and surrounded by liberal areas in Virginia and Maryland?

This is the most obvious of traps, designed to provoke a response exactly like the last one. .

Exactly why they chose Charlottesville in the first place. They could have chosen any number of southern cities or towns with confederate statues, but they knew they'd get the biggest pushback in C'Ville, a very blue city.

I'm not sure which is worse, dying young in Mexico or being traumatized in foster care in the US.

Also, I should have prefaced my quote with "The Breitbart crowd would say..."

And there is one of the biggest issues with the Breitbart crowd. The policy is wrong and should be stopped. It doesn't matter if Mother Teresa started it and trying to say someone else started it is what a 5 year old would do.

Another reason not to trust CBS.

(I've never had a problem on Chrome)
The problem is that the certificate is for www.marketwatch.com but that link was to marketwatch.com. Add the "www." and you're golden.

Their webmaster should be fired.

They want the policy in place as a deterrent. Their argument is, "well you were ok with it under Obama, so this is just Never Trumpism, and you're a hypocrite". Which of course is wrong. Had this come out under Obama, he would have felt the same heat to change the laws.

Obama should have done it. Every racist conservative would then have been forced to stick up for illegal brown immigrants, which would have made their heads explode. Or not, since their heads seem to be made of concrete.

Of course he should have done it. Instead, he made a new internal policy and swept it under the rug. Trump isn't obligated to follow that policy, so he made his own that sucks even worse than the actual law. But his base will accept that Democrats are to blame because the actual law is still the same.

The question that should be posed to them is "why then were the Republicans never opposed to it if it was so terrible and ongoing under Obama?" Lord knows they cut him no slack for anything else.
