Refereed a Norcal Premier league U16 girls game yesterday 120x75 yd field), and embarrassingly I'm sore today. They shore didn't make 15 YO girls like that when I was in High School -- those girls are FAST and STRONG!

I spent the day on and off the phone and trading emails with a potential employer only to be told that my work experience isn't current enough. No shit. I've been out of work for close to four years.

Why the hell do I even bother anymore?

thats a bummer. is there any other field you can go into?

So after my mouth surgery I was forced to not smoke so I decided to quit for good. Today marks day 6 smoke free cold turkey after 18 years of a pack a day. I got a prescription for Chantix and took the first one a few hours ago.
I gotta say, it feels fucking awesome to not be smoking. I want to see my boys graduate high school, maybe get married. You know, the things a parent is supposed to do. I may get hit by a car tomorrow, but I'm not gonna continue to kill myself.
I'll never judge those who smoke but I'm smoke free and so damn happy.

My father quit cold turkey about 15 years ago. That was after smoking since age 7 - roughly 65 years. He ended up living a long life. But the smoke did it's damage. He died of prostate cancer 3 years ago at the age of 84.

Great news, MonkeyZero. :thu: Don't ever go back, not even for "just one" when you are stressed out.
Soon you'll smell someone's smoke and it will hit you how it much it now stinks.

I'm definitely done for good. I had tried before with patches and lozenges but I wasn't ready. I'm mentally ready this time and it's been easier than I expected. I'm a grumpy bitch from time to time but that's going away too. The chantix should be the nail in the coffin if it works as well as I've heard.

Great job, MZ! The good thing is that now that you've done 6 days, each one gets easier and easier.

I know :). Three years and three months for me, and I have NO desire whatsoever to light one up.

Has anyone heard anything from Diceman? I'm wondering how the family is doing with the new baby.

evenin. I took my mahogany bodied strat and added a maple veneer to the top. Did some staining.. Man, guitar building is hard... Not sure how it will come out, or if the future many layers of poly will alter it, but hey... fun projects are fun.
