Hola.....

NOCD for me. I've been looking for a second vehicle. Something 4 wheel drive for cheap. So when it starts snowing again next week i can get up my driveway:mad: Ok so it probably wont snow next week but this winter really got to me. I was stuck not being able to get up my street in April because of a foot of snow. I found a Dodge Durango today with low miles and only minor rust. They were selling it cheap because " the front end is messed up". After taking it for a drive I'm sure it's just a ball joint. Kind of a challenge to replace on a Durango but shouldn't be terrible and if I take it to my local guy it probably won't set me back to much.

So I picked this beast up for $1400. It has the Magnum V8. The engine is strong and quiet. The transmission seems good. Overall I can't find any mechanical issues except the ball joint.

Ya that's what I was thinking. I wasn't really looking for a V8. I was thinking a smaller SUV but this seemed like to good a deal to pass up. You can hardly find a decent car for under $2000 let alone a 4x4. It should last us a while as a winter vehicle and farm vehicle. I don't live on a farm but we live out in the woods behind some large farms. Dirt roads that can be a challenge. This thing should make easy work of getting through the mud and snow.

HN4X4D Saturn.

Looks awsome Ken. That's gotta be a bitch to add to an existing body, lots of work.

I hope its a minor repair... Some Dodge's have super expensive front end repair. in the Thousands dude.

Ya I know there can be some transfer case issues and other front end problems with this year Dodge. I'm pretty confident that the only problem is the ball joints. My cousin is a mechanic an him and I have done quite a bit of work on our cars over the years. It's kind of the only time we hang out is fixing a car. I might just take it to my guy down the street but if I feel up to it I'll jump into the repair myself. With the price I got it for even if I have to replace the whole front end it will be worth it. I used to work for a company that made a software management system for salvage yards so I can usually source used parts cheap.

Morning

Saturn, that's a hell of a score :thu:.

Fell asleep around 11 last night, but made the mistake of allowing the cat in the room :annoyed:. He jumped on me around 10-to-5 , and, of course, that was the end of that. Did 28 minutes of the 35-minute Tabata workout, ate breakfast, then went on a bike ride for a little while. This afternoon, have to go to my cousin's wedding. Joy . The only reason we committed to going was to support my uncle (the father of the cousin) - just to find out he doesn't intend to attend :annoyed:. Some bad blood between the two, but me and the wife aren't backing out. A hug and good luck, let's eat, and get out of there.

Played the hell out of the new GibTrib last night - loving it. In a real honeymoon phase with both LPs, but they are both great guitars - not a flaw on either one, and they're Gibsons . Still also trying to unload the Mira, but in no hurry.

Gonna get out and do a bit of yard work before I have to get ready.

I've been running some numbers looking at book value with all repairs done and if I can get the front end fixed for under $1000 not counting tires and alignment I'll be at book value or slightly over. I got a quick quote from my cousin and he is thinking if I brought it in to the shop we would be at $600. If we do the repairs ourselves probably less than $200 but it will be tough without air tools. He is going to see if we can borrow some tools for the weekend.

If we don't find any surprises he thinks I could make money on re-sale during the winter or at least break even. I don't think I'll be selling it though. I think this is going to stay for a while. It really tears through the mud and crud up here.

definitely a good deal then. Even here I like having at least one vehicle that is somewhat utilitarian.

I think I want to buy a barrel of that stuff because of the music they used in the video. I'll find uses for it.

Hi people. So I have come to the end of my 30 day return on the red Stripe Trans Tube Peavey Bandit I got. It was really close to the Envoy I got a couple months ago, and I also have SS Peavey Studio Pro 110 (which is a fantastic amp). Anywho.. I was leaning toward returning it. I had the over sized box and all the packing material in my car. I thought I would play it one more time. I used my BC Rich Eagle w/ Motherbuckers. I was pretty happy with a low gain dirty blues tone, and then went to high gain - which is really the Bandit's strong suit IMO. I know that it is big, bulky and heavy (heavy for me anyway) - but then again it is the ONLY big, hulky Combo I have, and is slightly better than the Envoy. I decided to take the Envoy down to my closest Music Go Round, and I got $65. I consider this good as I only took a hit of $20 - $25 on this. It was a better cash deal than I expected - so I took the cash. They offered me $85 in trade - but there was really nothing they had that interested me. They had some small Orange Tube amps - but more money than I wanted to spend - plus I am getting the Marshall replacement head this week. They had a 6505 Combo - but no way I would even attempt to move that under my own power - plus I don't need that much horse power. I'm glad I just made a decision, as I had been stewing on this for a couple weeks.

Saturn - HNDD. You do need the gun rack in the back.

DMAN - Congratulations.
