I've joined a Wrangler forum, and I'm learning all kinds of neat things about the Jeep.
I knew from reading a bit in the owner's manual that in 4WL, traction control is turned off, and the clutch safety switch is disengaged, so you can start the engine without pushing the clutch.
I've also found out, just in the last day or two (and I tried both of these things because they sound far-fetched, but I'll be damned if they aren't true), that the Jeep has some kind of anti-stall feature.
You can just release the clutch and as long as the wheels can turn (IE, you're not butted up against a rock or a tree or something) the ECM will give the engine enough juice to get you moving. You can even just pop the clutch and the thing won't stall. Funny, because I've stalled it a few times pulling out the conventional way.
You can also apply as much brake as you want without pushing the clutch, and the thing will crawl right along.
Both of these work, and they work whether you're in 2WH, 4WH, or 4WL.
