Hitch better hope they win the Cup this season, because if they have another one-and-out, his ass is canned

They need an upper echelon goalie as their #1. Without that, they go nowhere. I love that team though. I don't know why Miller didn't play well for them but they need to get someone who is high end.

^^^ The Panthers???

Ouch :(.

Hawks off to a 2-1 start. Rookie Artemi Panarin looks like he could be something special.

IMO, St Louis are one trade away from the Cup.

Now that Oshie is in Washington, I believe that they are more than one trade away. St Louis has a hard time with scoring and Oshie was one of their best. Washington will be poised to go deeper with him.

Anyone interested in a used St. Louis "Oshie" t-shirt?

Who's the really young kid that St. Louis brought up only 2 or 3 years ago? Really fancy stick-work?

I can't remember his name :(

Vladamir Tarasenko.

Kid's a fucking sniper.

Tarasenko is awesome but Oshie is unreal with the stickwork and hence does well in shootouts.
The co-ordination required for this is staggering. Pay attention and you'll see one from stick to skate and back to stick without ever touching ice.

and not as sharp a video but the stick and footwork:

Oshie shootout goals...some he just lulls the goalie to sleep and quickly puts it past them but it's the speed at which he can do the stuff that's crazy.

After Tarasenko is around for a few more years he'll have a big highlight reel too because he has donme some amazing things in just a couple of years.

The Avalanche are already starting to look the same as last season. Underperforming the talent on the team. I don't know if it is team chemistry or if Patrick Roy is just not a good coach, but something has to change. The season is young enough to turn it around.

He was a great coach 2 years ago but maybe because he is very assertive, he has a limited shelf life like many other aggressive style coaches?

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Last in the standings, but number one in my heart, you're keeping my Canes out of last place.

Huzzah!

Sure glad the Flyers fired the coach last year.....made all the difference in the world.

Oh, wait, we still suck. As bad, if not worse than last year......

So, I guess the coach wasn't the problem, huh? Shocking.
Could be....wait for it.....wait for it........a lack of talent on anything but the first line?

There's some pretty interesting commentary on crossing broad about the flyers play lately. Even when they have all the metrics going their way, they still can't get the edge on the only one that really matters; the scoreboard.

They have problems all over the place.
They can't score because the puck is in their own end most of the time.
We can't stop other teams from scoring because our D sucks. BAD. (Goalies are decent, though, considering what's playing in front of them.)
We can't replace the D-men, because they're all on 1 way contracts.
We can't trade them away, because nobody wants them or their contracts.
We can't bring anybody up because we don't have the cap room.

It's not a very good situation, and won't improve for at least another 2 years, imo.
Homer SCREWED this team up. Badly.
And Hextall trading away Hartnell for Umberger, well, that was just stupid.

You still holding on to thinking they can make the playoffs?
