Because Phil is all about Phil. That's why Boston traded him and that's why Toronto never fully embraced him. When the team wins and Phil isn't scoring, Phil is not happy. If Phil is scoring and the team is losing, Phil is fine. He is rude to the media and a poison in the dressing room.

I was sure that he'd bring Pittsburgh down but do well personally in the stats department. Maybe Pittsburgh just has a strong enough group to resist the Phil kill.

By the way, many people feel that Sid is a whiney diver punk...including some Pittsburgh fans I have spoken to.

All is done. The best team won and once again, San Jose built up the hope enough to get people to believe and then couldn't finish.
 
We agree,(maybe),to disagree on so many issues...anyway..

Phil is a sniper...Why wouldn't he not be happy when he's not scoring??

He sure scored his fair share since becoming a Pen...

We disagree on a lot of things hockey-related because you have exaggerated bias whereas my positions are generally stated without bias.

You expected them to be happy that their team lost??? Would you have been happy if SJ won this and won in Pittsburgh? No you would be bitching about the officials more than likely. The officials were horrible in the final IMO though they did not impact the final result either. A few clear penalties missed, and some head scratchers on missed icing calls. So a lot of people were upset with the refs (cheering loudly when they actually called an icing right) but again it didn't really impact the game IMO.

FYI the booing was for Bettman if that is what you are referring to. I was surprised at how many people actually stayed. There were probably 100 Pens fans and yet during the presentation there were like 12,000 people still there. Not everyone there is a lifelong hockey fan that wanted to see the cup. Most folks there just wanted to see their team win :shrug:
 
I'm always amazed at the booing that happens everywhere towards Bettman...And I mean everywhere..

Back in the day politicians would honor themselves and their word and step down when they felt that most people didn't want them around..

Not so in today's day and age...Suck it up for money......

I'm the first one to call BS on a BS penalty or an obvious one that's not been called,for or against a team I'm hoping for......

A lot of people think he ruined the game. Now though I think it's just the thing to do. I suspect all the commishes get booed nowadays

Well you're not inside my home to witness me cussing at the tv when the ref is making a shit call against the other team..So go ahead and laugh your ass off over false perception. Happy to oblige...
 
My team (the Flyers) is a few years out of seriously competing for a Cup. (Probably why I don't care for Sid. Flyers/Penguins hockey is always dirty/mean and rough).

I know that.

But we do have some killer prospects who are about ready to get some ice-time in the NHL.

Mark my words: We have this kid on D named Samuel Morin. He's 6'7" and NASTY. He's been compared to an immature Chris Pronger (think about THAT one for a minute...). If we can refine him and get him into the rotation, along with a couple of our young Offensive prospects, shed some dead salary weight and pick up a couple of younger free-agents....in a couple of years, things are going to change.


There's always next year, I guess.

Ya...I never thought of Morin before a couple weeks ago when I was in the hospital visiting Dad and he told me what an ass that dude was..

There's a reason why Sid and Letang didn't play the last regular season game against the Flyers...Certain teams always try to take out the best players...It's the only chance they have...
