Hey Ken,

Ended up putting the belle set in 74 strat. Here's a vid I did this weekend. Playing is a bit sloppy, lol.

"Added to YouTube favorites...."

Awesome Wag! Do you like them? Any constructive criticisms? Sounded sweet man.

AP -- music is always an interesting forum for both concordance and discord with kids! Hopefully you'll be spared the experience I had when my (then 15-yo) son became (fortunately briefly) enamored of "gangsta" rap. Happily, now (15 years later) he listens to a lot of the music I like and has even introduced me to some stuff I hadn't heard before (e.g. Misfits and Social Distortion -- I spent much of the 80s outside of music). It's always great when you and your kids can share pleasures like music.

To this day, my son credits me for turning him on to The Cure. We also share a love of Grateful Dead and Laurie Anderson.

Of course, we still have some gulfs - he doesn't dig Pete Seeger and I don't dig Marilyn Manson.

I do like them, but more so in THAT guitar then the one I originally had 'em in. I had them in a roadworn strat and I found they were too bright in that guitar (w/a .047 tone cap). The '74 has always been a little bassy. It's ash, sort of heavy, not a log, but heavy (don't know the actual weight, never put it on a scale). Anyway, those pickups are perfect in that guitar as it needed a little brightening up. I really like the 'tween positions and neck pickup by itself. They have a lot of 3D depth to them (which is hard to quantify, but you know it when you hear it). Good stuff, and definitely cut through a mix nicely and seem to hit a sweet spot nicely w/a little overdrive.

FWIW, I tried them originally w/ a .022 tone cap in the '74 and they were too bright, almost thin. With a .047, great range on the tone knob and just right on the brightness. They also sound great w/my twin reverb.

That was some nice playing, Wag.

Thank you.

That was really good! In my opinion at least.

Where else can you get a thread with videos of a old guy playing blues licks (sorry Wag I'm old to) then a creepy EmoGoth Metal video?

I'm slightly confused and scared.:grin:

Nice sounding pickups Wag and Ken.

The video was really professional Altoid. Well done.

Happy Monday

So I started watching The Bible on the History channel. A new production. Man they are flying thru this stuff. I suppose they have to.

Ken - the pup's sound good. Very bright I think.
