The Friday Thread

This should be a crazy weekend. Some friends of ours are headed to a wedding in Texas so my wife volunteered us to watch their 2 kids so both of them could go. She did this weeks ago and the other day informed me that the school she works for has graduation on Saturday and she has to go. So now I have to watch 4 kids all day Saturday by myself. The only plus is my friend has a Marshall JCM 900, a 4x12 cab and a nice Strat. So it sounds like I will be making some ears bleed beavis0
 
Tonight - making steaks on the grill. Maybe a little campfire outside if it's not raining. Minor beer consumption and general relaxation.

Tomorrow - going to test out our new (actually old, but new to me) canoe in the morning with 1Wife then some lawn mowing and other misc. yard work.

Sunday - No plans. I might make a batch of pizza dough and make pizza (duh) and calzones.
 
Got to get some tickets for a charity show dispersed to friends then tinker with my bike today. DJing down my local tonight which is good cos it's convenient but shit that the place is now so expensive it's absolutely empty at the weekends.

P90x tomorrow afternoon, karaoking at night most likely to some low grade hen parties and then hitting a friends house warming which will suck since i'll have the car.

Sunday I'm DJing at a communion in the afternoon and then me and some buds are going to see a Springsteen tribute band at night. I'm trying to keep off the booze but the idea of not having a drink at all over the weekend is a strange and unnerving one so I may leave the car and have a few beers.
 
Gigs tonight and tomorrow night. Work and get the house ready to host mothers day for the extended family.

Sat - ???
Sunday - Profit.




:embarrassed: It's actually going to be low-key. We might do brunch on mother's day, but that's the only thing actually planned.
 
Today I will install baseboard in my mom's house... Then I will come back and attempt to record a 12 bar thing I'm working on for one of Mark's lessons... The recording will coincide with drinking beer, so there will be a window of opportunity during the first few beers to record before my playing goes to shit, or at least my motivation... Then, I will eat healthy food...

For once I actually have nothing on the plate for the weekend. :eek:
Couple that with beautiful spring weather and there's a high risk I'm getting unbelievably drunk later tonight. :grin:

Other than that I'll probably try and get some writing/quick demos done, got about a dozen half written songs that I need to finish. :)

went yesterday arrived and greeted by constant rain, wind and the promise that it was only going to get worse over the weekend, we had planned to climb snowdon if we got some good weather but nothing doing so we've packed up and come home and its absolutely bloody glorious here, clear blue skies, lovely hot sun.

its just a bummer since its wasted time off work, wasted time/money on the journey/campsite etc etc and a missed chance for just the two of us to get away

Yesterday was my birthday, but it was a weeknight so my wife had to teach, and plus I had a side roots rock band practice, so this weekend should include some belated birthday celebrations. Tonight dinner with the fam, after I finish physical therapy for my freakish neck.

Tomorrow morning I think I'ma finally get the serpentine belt replaced in the Rockmobile. Afternoon will be son's lacrosse game at 2 p.m. Then a show with the aforementioned roots rock band in the evening.

Sunday I get to skip playing in/attending church for a change. Will do chores/yard work I reckon.
 
My mother-in-law is in Iowa for the week so I have the kids all day today...gig tonight at Mahe in Seal Beach.

The rest of the weekend is pretty mellow.
 
Long weekend here.
Off shortly to record some drums for a killer collab in the works, then some beer drinking later on.

Gig Saturday, band rehearsal Sunday before our gig on Monday (National Day on Tuesday, so no work then).
 
I'm working on a song in Reason especially for this forum. Hopefully i'll finish it up tonight and will be able to post it up tomorrow.
