My lovely kittens decided to use the carpet on our upstairs sun porch as a litter box so last night I ripped up the carpet and padding and pried up the subfloor, tonight I'm going to Home Depot for some materials and then meeting one of the guys in my band to see his girlfriends band. Tomorrow I'm getting up early, putting the quarterround in and painting the floor. I'm not re-doing the carpet until those kittens become cats. :mad:

Went and looked at a house in the country.
Do not want!

It'd need a good 100k to fix it up and the asking price doesn't take that into account. In fact I was thinking it's at least 100k too high if everything was decent.

Then I went and bought some lottery tickets.

I should have taken pictures of some of the 400k shitholes we looked at... Unreal.

All in all a good friday was had.

Had an insurance guy come by and check the damage from the water that got in recently in my bathroom and "storage" room, looks like I'll get some money for replacing some of the wall plates, so probably a happy ending on that.

Later had a really good band practice with Wasted, 5 new songs rehearsed and ready for next weekend's gig. :)

Structurally it was awesome.
I think it would need all new windows and there were a LOT. A ridiculous number but the views were great.
But every room needed paint, carpet, or both. Which really isn't all that surprising given that some folks redo all that stuff anyway.
 
Hosted karaoke at an Indian curry place in town. It's a bit more expensive that other similar places that do a buffet and entertainment night so it keeps the riff raff out which is good. In fact I've never had a bad gig there.

Which is probably tempting fate since I'm back in there tonight :embarrassed:

After I finished I sat up to about 3:30 drinking beer and playing fight night champion whereby I successfully unified the middleweight division, gave ray robinson such a pounding he retired, KO'd Jake LaMotta with a single punch in round 2 and beat one of only 2 fighters that's ever beaten me by decision (though I put him down twice in the 12th and he was about to go again for a TKO when the bell rang :mad: ) to take my record against him to 2-1 though all 3 fights have been brutal. I'm going to wait till his stats start dropping and beat the shit out of him and make him retire too :grin:

Today I was going to see a guy about a single speed bike but he was asking a bit much for a 2nd hand bike even though it looked in good condition so I ended up not going. I'm watching the track cycling on TV but I much prefer road racing.

Gig tonight as mentioned earlier.

Scotland are goign to be ceremoniously pumped by Brazil at football tomorrow in a friendly so it's as good an excuse as any to go to the pub and get drunk.
 
Oh yeah, we're up against Denmark in tonight's Euro qualifier.
I suspect the whole country will go bananas if we beat them, something we might very well do. :embarrassed:
 
Bumping this early since today is my Friday, at least at work.

Tomorrow morning I'll be driving up to Long Island for a weekend of bachelor party debauchery. Too bad the weather's going to SUCK. Details to follow on Monday......
 
We're recording a backing track album here in the studio so I probably won't be around too much in the afternoon...
 
Friday: Going to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago to see Tornado Alley, an IMAX film.
Saturday: Depending on some things i may get my nose pierced.
Sunday: Bad movie day with friends. Hopefully.
 
Doing some heavy gardening this weekend. My dump truck load of compost should be getting delivered right about now, so I'm gonna shovel, wheelbarrow, rake, and till that into the garden, then do a bunch of planting.

If I get that done, I also have a dump truck full of mulch to contend with. Good thing I have a 3-day weekend.

In addition - manual labor often leads to consumption of cold beer, so I'm sure there will be a fair amount of that.
 
I'm just gonna try to survive the day and get home. I have two old Hitchcock films waiting for me in my mailbox from netflix. :embarrassed:
