...the Mets are kinda like The Scorpions...they had a hit, a while back...and are still kicking...but there are no new fans...and all the other fans are oblivious to the suckage...

for me, it's pretty simple. i'm a baseball fan. in NYC you have two options on tv. Yankees and Mets. the Yankees use the DH, so the only choice is the Mets. so year after year, i come back for the beating. and lately, to hear Keith Hernandez sneak Frank Zappa references into blowouts.

...:thu:...fwiw...we get the new york channel 11 down here, and I always flick back and forth to the mets games...but its so much better with Hernandez and Darling...I cant stand fucking Tim McCarver...I usually watch the Fox games on Mute...cause theres only one person I hate more than Tim McCarver...and thats Joe Buck...

everybody watches McCarver on mute. fuck that guy. the interesting thing is that there was a time in the 80s when he and Ralph Kiner called games and they were pretty great together. that time is long past though.

The true fan.....

I grew up an A's fan, but since the Rockies were born (and I was here) I've been a Rockies fan. And up until a couple years ago there was very little to cheer for.....

...I think they offer way too much food as it is...but I guess with more to choose from, they'll be lesser lines...fwiw, Im willing to bet Citizens Bank Park has the best food of any ballpark...with Petco Park a close second...apparently they have delicious fish tacos...(thats what she said)...

ballpark food in general has gotten better over the past 10 years. i mean, i'm not about to get sushi, but the garlic fries in SF are awesome.

...we have crab fries...and cheese steaks, and roast pork and provalone, and the smitter, and the heater, and Harry the K's, and Bull's Barbeque (as in Greg "the Bull" Luzinski...hes often there during the game, giving autographs)...

Howard's defense has improved a lot over the past two seasons.

I highly doubt Castillo will take the job from Valdez, he hasn't proven anything and the season's almost here. Guess we shall see....
