Wow. The back sanded down to 400 grit. It's a sweet piece of wood.

Three applications is supposed to do it. Here we are. I think it'll look good just like this with a dark grain fill and lacquer.

Except the glossy part. I like glossy.

Thanks. A problem has arisen, however.
Most of you know that I don't like strats and the tummy cut is one big reason. At 165 pounds, the tummy cut causes the top of the guitar to fall backwards which puts my fretting hand in a bind.
This guitar does that same thing. I'm not pleased. Not sure what to do about it.

Funny you should ask. I'm working on the front tonight.
I still had to tweak the neck pocket some more so I've been doing that and applying stain as I go. Lol. Multitasking.

Here I think I've got three coats of stain on it. I'll buff it out here in a bit.

Also, completed the neck joint. A nice fit.

I suppose I should put some brown stain on those patches even though they're under the pickguard. They look like beacons.
