Dig it! The “ultimate” pedalboard rebuild thread.

The sounds go Iridium clean->Origin on the vale rectified sound -> J Rocket 45. Cal, wash and repeat. I'm playing my telecaster. I should do another clip with the Les Paul.

Manic depression at the end is the revival drive on the silicon rectified side. I think it's still set up to sound like Jimi's marshall. At the very end (about 2:20) there is a crazy loud boost, which I apologize in advance for.

the J Rocket pedal is really there to be my lead sound but it's supposed to be a JTM 45 marshal in a box so I thought I'd play it for the comparison.

The whole thing still isn't exactly like the sound of this stuff through my amp, but it's getting better.

The tone that kicks in at 0:41 is perfection.

The nice thing also is how responsive it is the the guitars volume knob. I should do another recording tomorrow if I have time.

Ok - straight into the PA tonight for my adult rock band classes I was pretty happy. It’s getting there. Playing through the PA bugs me a little because of the fast attack I feel every note having but once I got into the night I was fine.

@micwalt @telecaster911 @Psychotronic - how much delay and reverb do you use in your sounds?

I'm just starting to use a little bit of reverb again and I've always used a bit of an ambient delay tucked under my dry sound for depth.
I use a bit of room reverb in my dirty rhythm sounds, that's it. I'll throw in some delay and chorus for the clean stuff.
For solos, I have delay at 300-ish ms with one repeat to make things sound a little more epic, but not too slushy. I don't really do much ambient stuff.

Pretty close to what I've been doing for the lead stuff. I use analog or tape delay sounds so that the repeats don't obscure dry signal. I finally have a reverb in the H9 that I feel comfortable with. I've hated every other pedal reverb I've ever owned to this point.

It depends on what rig I'm using. If I'm local, I mostly use a mod/delay board into my Bogner Shiva without ANY reverb. If I'm using my "Atomic" board (which frankly is most of the time these days), then there's almost always some verb, but the application varies. All of my patches have switchable delays, and the type depends on the application -- tape slapback for 50's-type stuff, all the way to 80's DDL. The Amplifire also has tap tempo so I'll adjust for certain songs. For reverbs, I typically stick with the spring models, with the occasional hall, again depending on the application. I don't use much of it at all, though, as I'm not a huge fan of verb in general. I like a dry, present sound.

All things being equal, which rig (Atomic vs. Bogner) do you prefer playing through? And are your delays and reverb in the Atomic?

I don’t like a lot of reverb or delay. That just muddies things for me.

I do have a little reverb on the AFB but mostly it’s for me and probably inaudible my most. It’s plate reverb and short. Just to give it the tiniest bit of air

I have 325ms of dark delay in the event I feel I need it. Hoping not though :)

I just realized that it's been about 15 years since I gigged with an amp as my main source of tone, with some pedals in front. Everything since then has been either multi-effects (including amp models) into amp's effects return or direct to foh.

Video is shot. Just need to finish editing and upload.

Well, with some upcoming gigs that are kind of not working with what I had lead-sound wise I decided to go for something a little more saturated. The 45 cal wasn’t supposed to be for this board anyway but I figured The Dude would get me closer to what I wanted and after last nights rehearsal playing a bunch of Mike Stern, Chick Corea and other 80’s/90’s fusion tunes this seemed to be the right call:

Also, I left the 45 cal on the board for comparison but its pretty dumb to keep it with the Revival Drive and other sounds on there. Plus it's in my reserve loop, which I'm keeping open for some possible "future shit".
