Movie? Cool.
I'm reading it for my oldest kid's AP English class. I gotta go to class with him and take part in the discussion.

Pretty good book. The world has changed so much in 50 years.

It seems the type to win an oscar. Damn libruls.

My mom's family filtered into Oklahoma from Michigan and Canada, so they weren't your typical southerners. My mom remembers the first time she went to Enid and saw the separate water fountains and bathrooms. She said that was a real eye opener and quite confusing for a little kid. She just didn't get it.

My dad's father grew up in Pauls Valley, OK, in the south. There was once a sign on your way into town saying "Nixxxr, don't be caught on the streets after dark"

:bfp:

Hell, right in my home town of Enid, the Knights of Columbus in the 1930s actually had to stand guard on horseback around the Catholic church after a number of arson attempts. Weird shit.

I still see a lot of race hatred here, but it's mostly ignorant fucks who have no power over anything besides their own beaten wife.

I love Rhodesians. Wonderful dogs! Our Ziggy is half that and half whippet. Super sweet, but protective of the family. Our next big dog will be a Rhodesian.

:thu: Great to hear! I've heard nothing but great things about these dogs.

I fucking hate people.

One place my mom worked in Winston was an old historic house which was converted into office space. All the furniture in each office dated to the period when the place was built, which was pretty neat. She had this really cool desk in there. When she looked in the back, she found a KKK membership card from the early 1900's. Creepy.

Speaking of dogs, Kevin is one clever little phucker. Maybe TOO clever for his own good.
He might be a politician dog. He seems to find loopholes in all the rules.
