Sounds like I'm missing all the excitement. I actually had to wear a sweatshirt with my shorts tonight coming home from dinner

Nice amp, Ellen. I've liked the Randalls that I've tried.

Jerry, glad to hear that you didn't get hit with a twister. I just watched the weather report. Tom Skilling said that there were a few in Arkansas.

Trivia for the day. Tom Skilling of WGN is Jeffery Skilling's brother. Jeffery Skilling of Enron fame.

no. had some straight line winds about 10 miles north of us. we dodged that bullet again.
ellen, i think you're gonna love the randall!

Thanks Jerry, and thanks Monica!

I've tried out a few Randalls over the past 27 years or so. With the exception of maybe one of them, they all sounded good to me. But they always got lost in the shuffle when it came to considering what new amp to buy, just because, Randalls have never been as common as Fenders, Marshalls, Peaveys, or even Mesas around here. I heard the warm cleans and said "hmmm not bad!" Ditto for the vintage voiced gain channel. As soon as I activated the 2nd gain channel, and heard the brutally tight and punchy bottom end, combined with mega grind, it was like, "Yeah!! now we're talking!"

I'm beat. I've been up since 4:30 AM. I'm going to bed. Good night!

Second,

Ellen,

Wow you moved quickly! I have never played a Randall. But I guess I'll think twice now. 49 lbs would be too heavy for me. Glad you like it. I have bought some gear at Music Go Round. Up here they are often over priced, but sometimes you can find a good buy.

Jerry,

Glad the worst weather passed you by.

Ken,

Geez. good luck with your teeth. Damn.

Morning Jello,

I'm off to buy groceries.

Later.

For those not familiar with TS, he's THE weather GOD and has been for what, 25-30 years ? If you get WGN America you can see him on their nighttime newscast.

Good Saturday morning wave0

Gonna spend this morning later trying to score some "cheap" rolleyes1 Rush tix, then pop back down to the basement to spend another couple of hours sorting through, throwing out, repacking and stacking stuff

Seriously. Tom knows more about weather than you ever wanted to know. He turns every weather forecast into a 10 minute epic.
