I'll go back if I can log in. I'm not going to re-register. I spend most of my time here anyway.

I am still not sure, as of now I cannot log in and if I never can I am not going to make another account with that POS site.

I can't log in either. I don't know what damned email I registered with... I'm not getting an email from "HC" to reset it.
Blah.
Looks like it sucks anyway.

I can't log in yet either, and my first quick impression anyway is that they deleted a bunch of stuff and I hate the new format. I'll probably try to get back in but it will never be the same again/

I'm done for good. 90% of my posting is done from work and I can't post on 2.0 now. This is what I see when I try to start a thread or reply to one:

Also:

On the main Guitar Jam index (or any other forum home page) I can't tell at a glance what threads I've posted in.

There's no alt text on any of the titles. It was really nice to be able to hover over a thread title and see a full sentence or two from the OP.

The text is annoyingly small.

There's no obvious way that I'm seeing to jump straight to the newest post on a particular thread.

There's no quick reply box.

I've got to go back and hit "reply" on the OP in order to post in the thread? Seriously?

Tons and tons of wasted whitespace.

Avatars are now constrained to 80px by 80px? Seriously? They're all squashed and distorted now.

Horizontal scrolling in 1024x768? Really? Holy fuck, that's incompetent design.

Dunno, right now, with my coffee buzz going and a desk and mail box full of mail the new site is way too chaotic. I like simple interfaces and there is way too much going on too try and figure it out now.

I probably won't bother going there much, but it depends if they make it usable really. It's really shite at the minute.

Between this forum and maplifiers/tonesettings (the best guys from HCAF, it's just missing neilrocks25) I have all the e-friends I need to converse with :embarrassed:

I will probably visit for the spam page and the Doom Room if those threads come back.

GJ? not likely, but not out of the question.

Yea, I'll continue to torture myself with the spam page. Otherwise, I don't see much reason to go back. The people that I enjoy talking to from there are either here or I've added them on facebook.

I'll probably stay loyal to GJ. Even if everyone did move over here, I do admittedly enjoy the occasional shitfest, and this will never be (or never should be) the place for that. There should always be a place for 500+ post shred vs flog threads, in which Jimmy James and Sad Navigator call each other names. I've had 10 years of that, and am not eager to let all of that history die. If my disposition was a less resilient one, then yeah, I'd probably say "fuck that forum!" as well.

As much as it HATE 2.0, and I really hate it, this is my thoughts right now as well. But if they don't make some significant changes soon I think that there will be nobody left for good shitfests. And I don't know how long I can put up with how terrible the new site is.

I'm on the fence right now.
I'll probably be checking it and doing the occasional post here and there.

If significantly improved, I'll consider keeping on going there after the songwriting contest, but this will be the proper hangout.

It is an amazing experiment. People matter so much to a forum, but software plays a vital role in making a sense of community possible. This is what Jive doesn't seem to be getting. It's all features and no flow.

It's been five years at HC for me too, almost to the day. If I had half a brain I'd walk away and not look back. So yeah, I'll probably stay.

I'll still be posting my lesson stuff there but it seems like most of the people I liked to talk to are all here now. I'll just have to wait and see what happens....

The Taunton Press did the exact same thing to their fora, except they managed to get it even more fucked up.
