You, I'm fairly certain I'm going to be done there. They made almost none of the improvements that we told them needed be done back in January, and have all along been saying that "they'll get to it." Well, it's never going to happen. Jive is so inept that it will never get fixed to a non-irritatingly functional level.

Also, the other Lesson Loft mod resigned already, and the sole discussion that's been had in my forum since the changeover is all the regulars discussing which would be the best music forum to switch over to. In a week, there won't be anyone left to post in my forum, and I won't really have anything to moderate. In fact, as it stand now, I'm barely even a moderator. We can't ban people (shh!!) because Jive didn't feel it was an important feature to implement right away. The sole thing I can do is shuffle threads around between forums and edit posts.

We've had 4 mods resign so far, and other than Anderton, all of the admins are MIA. It's like no one is running the place, and for the mods that do show up, they aren't telling us shit.

That's it, I guess.

We'll just have to focus on developing a solid jazz community here at MWGL.

I'm really surprised there hasn't been a mass porn bombing yet :embarrassed:

I browsed for a few minutes tonite. I won't be going back. I spent a good 5-6 years there so it sucks, but most of the people I care to regularly converse with are over here. Maybe the HC exodus is the first step in bailing on the forum thing in general.

I think I'll be cutting back a lot after this summer, when I no longer need to be spending hours a day in front of a computer. Life's short.

most of the good folks are over here already however there are a few (and I'm sure I'll forget many names) who i would miss because I doubt they would ever migrate over here. Motorik and machine gunner come to mind . In motoriks case I doubt he would ever leave and i'm not sure if machine G. even knows of this place. So I'll continue to pop in over there for at least a while but this place has definitely taken GJ's place for me. It kinda reversed in the past GJ was my "go to" forum and I would pop in here only occasionally now it has reversed and I'm sure as time goes by it'll turn into only visiting Gj every few days until i cease to go at all...kinda like quitting smoking.

somehow i always miss those things. I think I've only witnessed two or something

It's not the kind of porn that makes you think "Damn, I need to fap." It's more the kind of thing that makes the idea of Moshzilla nudes the sexiest thing ever.

Thats incredibly sad. Also enraging that they would so completely take not only the community that is the reason for the sites existence for granted but to completely ignore the people who moderate the community as unpaid employees of the site.

I would seriously consider adding a "Lesson Loft" forum here for those guys to go to that is not my actual lesson forum. Your forum is what got me started on Harmony Central in 2007 and has always been incredibly supportive of my efforts. I'd even break my "No Non-Premier Music Staff" rule and allow you guys to continue to moderate that forum. I definitely owe you guys at least that much.

Honestly, the only reason why I'm even visiting HC 2.0 is to see any potential trainwrecks. Away from work, of course.

Sad. I think I was more active there than any other internet community.

After them pulling the old site as soon as we found it. I'm done. Dick move. There were more posts in that glorious 15 minutes than there were in the last 36 hours on 2.0. I'll keep watch just to see how much worse the situation becomes and how dissolutioned Anderton and his cronies get.

that was so fun having the old site to go to

I missed out on the old format steal cause I was out at the bar :(

for the new one, the discussions are interesting but getting around the thing is total shit....
you can tell already tell that this place is becoming alot more popular since the change

You can be sure to catch your dose of the Dannness here

On 8th April 2010, Musician's Friend released a revised format for the Harmony Central web site, particularly in the integration of a completely new design of their online forums. It was originally meant to be released in early January, but due to numerous design flaws it was postponed. Upon the second release, the forum design is still horrendously flawed: member registrations have been lost, load times are extremely slow, the software is cumbersome and awkward to operate, and the aesthetics leave much to be desired. It is a disastrous, appalling, & dismal anti-climax for one of the most popular online musician forums in the world. A mass exodus of members to other less appealing musician forums has commenced and highly likely to increase, which will negatively affect web traffic to the web site and thus decrease sales and popularity. Forum moderators have already stepped down from their roles. Harmony Central will crash and burn, dissipating into obscurity.

If you were able to do that Mark..it would be great. The "lesson loft" is also where I started with HC and where I spend a LOT of time (pre 2.0!) learning..it's a fantastic resource with some truly excellent players/teachers willing to share.
