Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

@the_huge, this must be a dark day for you as a cricket fan.
Not really. It's Twenty20.
As I have become increasingly cynical (some may say bitter-and-twisted) in my old age, I take less and less interest in the professional cricket circus. Clicking on the link was the first time that I saw the score from this game. I have always been of the point of view that limited-overs cricket is a great game for those of us that aren't good enough to play 'proper' cricket. I umpire league cricket every Saturday during the season and as many mid-week 'gentlemen's cricket' games as I can get and I play (almost) every Sunday, but the last time I went to a top-level game was (just) over ten years ago: Pakistan v India at Karachi in March 2004.

Edit:
Me and my Spoons
Yesterday being Mothering Sunday, mrs_huge had the ma-in-law over for a meal, the washing-up from which I have just finished. How the fuck does a meal for three people require the use of twenty-six spoons?

The UK is in shock. Liverpool top of the league, Sebastian Vettel not winning the Grand Prix, and the Dutch beating us at cricket. Something is very strange with the world...

Even the Dutch beating you guys in cricket? Damn, that's harsh. :embarrassed:

One little positive though, Brian Deane got off to a good start in our domestic league with his team winning the first match yesterday. :thu:

wotcha Euro villains

I have a week off work, however will be spending most of the time decorating. filling holes in the walls, sanding them, stripping skirting boards, painting and all that malarkey.

If I had the money, I would hire somebody to do it for me. On the up side, the GF is mostly out during the day :embarrassed:

Morning Happy Whales

When we bought our house 2 years ago we hired a decorator. We did as much of the groundwork as we could (stripping walls etc) but he did the actual decorating. Good job too as not only do I hate that kind of thing, I'm crap at it too. Plus its booooooring.

Morning all.

I hate decorating, but I will acknowledge a certain amount of satisfaction though when it is all done and it looks good.

My most detested DIY job is plumbing however. Doesn't matter how much prep I do or time I give myself, it NEVER goes right first time, always makes a load of mess, takes more time than allocated just so you find you need a new bit just as the shops have closed.

I agree there. Plumbing is a bastard. You do everything right, turn on the tap, wait……looks good……wait a bit more……oh fuck its leaking…..

You eventually get it done but plumbing also involves having to have hands as small as a childs that are also as agile as a monkeys. You also need to be about as big as Yoda to get into certain spaces.

Oh, and although Ikea furniture and fittings are fine, don't ever use any of their plumbing gear. Its total sub standard cack. I found out the hard way.

You know, Scouse FC's recent success might have been a lot more palatable if it wasn't for that utter cunt Suarez. He could be the most brilliant player for all I care, but he will always remains the most cuntish cunt to me

It's true, he's a cunt.

He definitely has been. Pleased he's behaved well this season, long may it last. When he does that, he is a phenomenal player.

Loads of proper cunts in football though. By far the worst recently I'd say Chico Flores (although Vertonghen gives him a damn good run for the money).

I genuinely hope Liverpool don't win the league because they'll be unbearable if they do.

Evening chaps. Bloody shofty week this is seems like it' gone on forever.

Oh well holiday come next week.
