Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Survived my first workday :embarrassed:

Having a job is still a bit shocking after 10 years or so of freelancing, but this seems very nice.

They bought me a ton of stuff to use for work (computer, phone, peripherals etc), which is nice. And they are very unbothered by working hours or WFH, as long as shit gets done, and there probably will sometimes be some periods of hauling ass to get certain projects done. First project I'm part of seems a lot of fun, and I get to do exactly the kind of stuff I love doing.

Very cool! I am in a similar situation, although not getting a phone from work

Following my recent ascendance to proper management I get a work phone but it's plugged into the wall and is not much more than a conduit for colleagues to drag me round to deal with trivial behaviour management issues that shouldn't warrant my intervention. :annoyed:

We're off to Mallorca tomorrow for the week. 5 star+ adult sit on your arse drinking cocktails all inclusive and I can't wait.

We're in a quiet resort but depending on the old firm result tomorrow I may have to storm into Santa Ponsa for a ruck @pmc100 :embarrassed:

Morning Euros.. we're off to view a house this afternoon. I'm usually dismissive of Mrs JBJs aspirations to move but this place looks amazing, it's just down the road and we'd never need to move again so I'm quite excited

It has a proper games / bar room, big fuck off kitchen and plenty of space for me to fill with my music crap.

It has a bidet in the en suite too :embarrassed:

Feck, car got broken into. I my wallet for stolen. Luckily I never use cash anymore, so there was only a fiver in there and a bunch of expired credit cards.
They did steal my driving licence, but what are they gonna do with that? Just a hassle for me to get a new one.

oh they stole an old fleece from the taxi company i used to work for. Since it’s not a local company, i am hoping I will catch the thief wearing it

Ugh, my back is playing up again. Sitting at a desk
all day doesn’t help. Guess I will have to postpone my return to running for a while and have a few more beers in the evening to dull the pain :embarrassed:

Bid in for the house though I'm regretting calling Mrs JBJs bluff a few months back and telling her to deal with the nuts and bolts if she really wants to move, I'd much rather be dealing with this side of things. :embarrassed:

Strong offer imo and we've got a decent bit of movement £££ wise if it's close. Gave the seller my number and told her to reach out before selling it to someone else.

According to the agent there's a few more viewings booked in this week and the girl will probably be making a decision on Friday.

I'm 70% sure a stupid bid will come in but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited.

:headsmash:

Turns out Mrs JBJ has gone slightly rogue with the initial offer on this place.

Nothing ridiculous at this stage but FFS I'm going to have to put the foot down if it goes to a closing date!!!

Didn't get the house. Solicitor or estate agent should have called us yesterday but didn't so I chased it up.

I bumped into the seller by chance on Wednesday and she said she'd definitely phone when all the offers were in so it's likely a cash buyer or stupid offer (or both) that's come in if she didn't even take it to a closing date.

Bit disappointed but I'm a great believer in what's for you won't go by you.

It's all good. Mrs JBJ was a bit miffed the estate agent didn't call on Friday as they said they would but at that stage they're not getting any money from us so why would they bother their arse especially on a long weekend....

Seller text me late on Saturday thanking us for the interest but saying they'd had a great offer she had to take so it's clearly well beyond what we went in with if she's not even courted a counter offer. At that point you're in a new stamp duty bracket which = serious ££££ over and above the offer put in so I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Maybe going to view another one this week if she can be bothered setting it up.

Been to see another couple of houses. Not interested in any of them but went to one tonight.

It's an older couple so it needs pretty much top to bottom decorated but apart from that it looks good.

Nice big kitchen
Big enough garden for the dog / all my outdoor cooking shit
Utility room (Mrs jbj said I can set my beer machine up there. It would fit a record player and a little chair no problem so that might be an idea :embarrassed: )
Decent sized rooms and what not.
New boiler

One of my best mates parents and sister lives in the estate and he said they've never had any problems with the houses.

It's nowhere near as convenient as where we currently are but Mrs JBJ says that doesn't bother her so it'll not be a mad one because we're looking at £15k+ to get it done up but we're going to have a 2nd visit then put a bid in.
