Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Mrs JBJ is away with the girls for the weekend, Lola's been papped off to gran and grandads and I'm off to the football so today's breakfast / brunch has consisted of a pint of Spaten Oktoberfest from the perfect draft and a half eaten bag of cashews from last night. It'll be washed down with the customary half bottle of bus loyal buckfast. :headbang:

In a bid to be slightly sensible I've started a chili for coming in from the football instead of the fairly complicated satay I'd planned on.

Good news is I'll have a hearty dinner ready as soon as I get in. Bad news, it might just give me an excuse to stay out later than planned!

New role has been going really well thought it's mentally exhausting. Tuesday will be interesting. I can't divulge much but I'm meeting with a "tricky" parent who has caused us some amount of bother over the years over mainly imagined / fabricated slights. I received a scattergun e-mail around 11pm last night with social work, mental health etc... Cc'd in. :annoyed:

I doubt it but I'm hoping the gaffer is a bit laissez-faire with how she lets me deal with the situation. :embarrassed:

Hope we're all good euros.

Meh I'm over it now. Plus I FINALLY GOT MY CAR BACK!!!!

Ver near £480 but I didn't give the slightest of fucks, I'd actually been on gumtree looking at scooters and the like last week because I was so annoyed not being able to get around!

Speaking of cars, my car has given me nothing but hassle over the last 2 years.

Latest example: a week ago both my headlights went on my way home at night, had to drive on fog lights. Got them replaced next day, but while installing, the guy must have knocked the grille loose, because last Thursday on my way home at night, I thought I drove over some debris… when I arrived at home it turned out I lost my grille

Drove home after work today to pick up new grille I ordered, and guess what I happened to spot lying on the hard shoulder…. Yep, my old grille. Piece of luck since my new grille didn’t get delivered

Weird how quick you adjust to working full-time towards the weekend. My brain is starting yo slow down :embarrassed:

Email from "tricky" parent: blah blah blah wild accusations about another kid harassing / bullying theirs. (This has been going on for years and I've decided I'm using my new role to nip it in the bud.

Diplomatic email from Mr JBJ: I've gone over the CCTV of the area these incidents are meant to have happened for the whole week just in case he's got his days mixed up. There's no evidence of any of it taking place at all. They've never even been near each other. What your son has reported didn't happen etc... Etc...

Tricky mums response: I suppose the CCTV is irrefutable proof that this didn't happen but my son doesn't have the capacity to make this stuff up.

Umm what? :confused::confused::confused:

I had an interview with the job thingy I applied for. Haven't heard back yet, but hey-ho, interview was fun, they seem like nice people. I might actually be disappointed if I don't get it now :embarrassed:

Other than that, the weather fucking sucks here right now. It's supposed to be -10 and snowy, but it's hovering around 0 with flurries of icerain and ridiculous windgusts.

It's 2023 mate, if you don't agree with the facts, just deny reality.

Sounds like your average day in Scotland

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your job application

Last week from another parent I had:

"My son is not a racist! p*ki is slang and how is it ok for black people to say n####r but we can't? You're all just woke snowflakes" he then went on a rant about COVID coming from China.

And they wonder why their weans end up fucked in the head. Can't be the mad parents, it's clearly got to be the schools, social media or the man.

I digress.

Before my car broke I'd just started an oil painting class and was really enjoying it.

Just did this while we're away for the weekend. First outside of class and I'm quite happy with it - the treeline is really nice - even if it makes Cumbria look a lot more dramatic than it currently is

Finally got word from the company I had a meeting with, they wanna meet me in person. Pretty nice :)

Other than that, life's hobbling along. This is by far the worst winter weather-wise since we moved here. Every week follows the same pattern, above 0 during the week, 5-10 centimeters of snow during the weekend that slowly makes life hell during the following days :embarrassed: There's always a week or so a year where Finnish winter tries to get you killed, but dayummmm this year it's the entire winter :embarrassed:

sounds like you are in for a shot for the job! :thu:

@ColourofFire - Good luck with the job.

@jbj - Nice painting. Where'd you end up staying if you don't mind me asking? We're looking at going to the North of England for our holiday this year and looking at lodges, etc.
