@wok Good luck getting back to work. It might suck, but getting some regularity back into your life might also help in the long run. Hope it works out for you, both mentally and financially.
@jbj Mojo for your student, hope he's doing better by now :(
I've had a hell of a few weeks. Between getting the dog and setting up and opening our exhibition, I was at absolute breaking point for a few days. All worked out well though. Kiira is settling in really well and so far exceeds our expectations. There's some issues here and there and some things to work on, but nothing major. In general we're super happy with her and she seems really happy with us. We ended up taking her to the gallery every day during build-up and she behaved wonderfully. She got along fine with all the people working in the gallery, didn't missbehave on them walking in and out for smokes/lunch/whatever. She put her teeth in one of them while playing, but they were warned about that, so nobody cared (and it was nothing major, just a little overenthusiastic, not even close to breaking skin). In general she behaves super well around people. She's a bit too uncontrollable when we meet other dogs in the street, which we need to work on, but it looks like she's starting to realise she has absolutely no chance of getting to play with other dogs if she behaves like an idiot and lunges and gets yappy, but does sometimes get to have a go when she behaves calm, so hopefully over time that gets better. A few days ago she got to play with our upstairs neighbour's puppy, we were a bit concerned she might be wayyyy to wild (she's absolutely mental with dogs her own size/bigger), but she was so careful and thoughtful. She was really trying to teach the puppy playmoves.
The exhibition is running well, opening was a blast. I arranged beers from the brewery next to my studio, the gallery was packed, loads of super positive comments so far. Everything works (which isn't always a given in the type of work me and the GF make), so we don't even need to babysit the works.
