Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Now, which diddy tribute club did you support again?

Did I just come across "yer teams deid" patter on mwgl forums?!?!? :bigg:

@Dexter Inferno
No idea about this Sakala dude. He's meant to be a player but you never know. I can't think of an African except for Bhougerra and to a lesser extent, Mohsni that ever kicked a decent ball for us. The tenner I had on Umar Sadiq to score against the sheep shaggers in the league cup semi final still stings more than my stupid England v Scotland bet at the Euros :embarrassed:

Googled the lad and seems he did quite ok for Oostende the last few years, so he should be ok for Scottish football.
At least he shouldn't be sent off quite as often as Morelos :embarrassed:

As for the betting, I'm glad I don't do that stuff.

Morelos has chilled significantly of late. Which is a shame :embarrassed:

Bettings a fools game but I did rather well running with Rangers both halves, +2 goals and a clean sheet last season.

Went to a music festival yesterday. Was great to see live music again. Groove Armada headlined who put on a surprisingly good live show.

Felt pretty comfortable in the crowd. Being outside was fine. Not sure I'm ready to go a sweaty basement club yet.

I saw Basement Jaxx supporting Robbie Williams years ago and they were great. Fantastic festival band.

I've had a few wedding gigs now since things have opened back up and I feel you, at some points I'm like fucking hell I can see why they don't want people dancing, hugging, singing etc... this is mad.

Anyways my lift for the game has fallen off the radar so I'm having to work out how I'm going to get back home without melting when the subway is shut for the night.

Supposed to be going to Newcastle for a concert on October 1st, but that may not happen at this rate. We're still on the amber list and I probably won't get my second Pfizer shot before then.
3 tests and 10 days of quarantine is not an option.

Starting to gig again in about a months time though, which should be great. The first ones are outdoors or in huge tents, so that should be fine. Thankfully we haven't had a big delta wave so far.

Great news about gigging again! Read somewhere, or maybe my wife told me that Pfizer should be pretty effective vs the delta variant.

I keep reading different results on that one. One day it's effective, the next day it's less effective than previously though, repeat ad infinitum....

Oh well, guess it's a bit early for the science to be conclusive. And of course, because I've had two shots of just that I'm hoping it'll make me, if not immortal, then immune to most covid stuff.

Oh yeah, I don't blame them for not having conclusive results, it would just be good to stop plastering it all over the front pages every time there's some half-assed result that will be disputed 5 minutes later :embarrassed:

Yes, absolutely! The news cycle: 'Whoa! We're gonna make it!' and the next day 'Oh noes! We're doomed!' and so on.. :embarrassed:

Must have seen the same tour as I saw Basement Jaxx too, I was quite surprised how good and how very energetic they were. Very good support act.

From what I've read it's very effective against serious illness (including the Delta) once you're fully vaccinated. And as I won't be getting my second shot until about two weeks after that concert trip, I don't think I'll be taking that risk. The current restrictions for entering the UK makes it near impossible to begin with though.

Yeah, it will be great to get out there and do a few gigs again.
