Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

I'm sitting in the living room with a column fan blasting right on me and it's still too hot.

It's been pretty awful here today. But on a positive note, I am off for the next 2 days

So after 3 months I am finally able to have my daughter in my car again without social distancing. So last night I treated her to McDonalds and drove to the park where we went for a walk.

Feeling so much better today

Good to hear mate. I can't imagine how much the past few months must have sucked in that situation.

Mrs JBJs birthday today so I'm putting together an Indian mezze for dinner: 2 types of veg pakora, chicken tikka, seekh kebabs, spiced onions, pakora sauce (never done this before so interested to see how it turns out) and some sort of flat bread. I think I'm more excited about it than she is.

Kinda sucks that just about every year since we've been together we've been on holiday somewhere nice for her birthday but it is what it is.

So people in England, I hope you haven’t been to the pub yet and are waiting until the novelty has worn off for all the numpties.

Was in Edinburgh on Saturday, and it was a surreal
experience. Usually around this time of year tourists are starting to arrive and the buzz is building. Now it’s like a scene out of a post-apocalyptic movie: an empty Royal Mile save from a few shoppers.

It was sort of nice

I avoided the pub over the weekend. Just couldn't be arsed. It's more like going to a restaurant. A lot of places you have to book and even if not you need to wait to be seated and its table service only. That's not the pub. Went to the park for a few tinnies with some mates instead.

I've enjoyed the quietness a lot. London is starting to get back to something like normal but when you go into the City or the West End it's still a tiny fraction of the usual madness. Edinburgh would be great to wander around without the crowds.

yeah, I enjoyed wandering around the city centre in Edinburgh with gf, although no cafés were open, so we had to get coffee and food on the go and sit on a wet bench ( had been raining).

Mrs JBJ (who isn't much of a drinker compared to my good self) was bumping her gums yesterday about booking a table to meet up with friends in this big stupid beer garden they've opened at the Rotunda in town.

No dear, not happening - just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

 "ok what about this pub on Monday, it's a lot smaller"

If I wasn't going to our local opening back up, which the landlady personally invited us to, I'm not going anywhere else.

I get that people are bored and fed up and just want things to go back to normal but that's not going to happen anytime soon so why put yourself at risk? 750 odd people they reckon the rotunda can hold at any one time. The potential spread if even one or two people there have it is unthinkable and this isn't small businesses trying to get back on their feet, it's firms capitalising on the situation.

Anyway rant over.

Job for head of pupil support has come up at my old high school. It's probably not the best time to switch jobs and go to a different school but apparently I'm guaranteed interviews for any promoted post I go for in the council due to my current role. Decisions decisions.

The last time I witnessed Celtic and pink floyd come together I walked out of a Waters gig halfway through his set :embarrassed:
