Yeah it seems like stuff might get harsh here. It's nice, but I didn't really fall in love with the place. People are kind of obnoxious, the town is a bit messy with too many ugly "modern" buildings. Party scene seems mostly focused on getting absolutely fucking hammered to balls to the wall music.

Today marked the first official 'wtf am I doing out here freezing my balls off?' fixture of the season.

On the upside I've wangled a late start tomorrow so I can enjoy some refreshing lager beers and prosecco wines out the back after dinner
 
Home again. Winter properly started here, cold as fuck. I'm really not used to it yet. At least there's no snow yet :embarrassed:

Back to work for the theatre production and preparing for a gig in Bergen, Norway next month. Quite excited for that, it's always fun to have gigs abroad.
 
Been car-less for a week now and I haven’t really missed it...




Obviously I am lying, walking to and from work through rain and cold has been shit. Not been able to just pop round to the supermarket. Can’t wait to get a new car but no time at all to go and look for one

It's at the dubious point where I didn't even notice much of a difference between here and Tromsø.

I quite like it though, only negative is my sense of time complete going out the window.
 
Still reasonably light here in the mornings when I leave for work but that won't last.

Quality evening hot tub weather though and the early darkness means I don't need to be too ninja when ducking in and out in the buff :embarrassed:

Sitting on a shitty cold train heading to Bridge of Allan for my birthday dinner.

We have these local culture award thingies, and tonight one of my best friends and classmate/former bandmate got his just praise.

We pulled together a 12-man drum sequence where his son and our former teacher did a sort of duel towards the end - that was really cool.
Really cool when you can give people praise for the job they've done for the local community, especially when it's one of your best friends.
 
Aaannddd... pretty much on cue, like every year I got ill in November. Been in bed for 2 days. Luckily I feel much better already, I am so bored

And then you pick someone up from the hospital who has to pick something up at home. He says he is a paranoid schizophrenic, is only wearing a hospital gown ( no underwear), stinks to the point I have to stop myself from retching... great to be back to work
