Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Well, today's been an interesting end to the week before Easter.

Just attended a web based demo of a tool that might just be the answer to a lot of systemic problems we have at work and then get a call from my boss begging me to take on a secondment to a majorly senior role to help out the biggest project our company has. Food for thought this weekend.

Afternoon all.

I took the secondment and it has been mental so far trying to get up to speed and on top of this. Not sure if I can see the light at the end of the tunnel yet or it's just some f*cker with a torch bringing me some more work to do; I suspect the latter unfortunately.

Meanwhile son is sitting some BTEC database exams over the next 4 days that he is woefully unprepared for as he was supposed to have 120 hours of lessons beforehand and he's had 70. School couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery quite frankly.

Spent the weekend working with him to try and help him understand enough to get through at least.

You could have posted this at lunchtime before I sent off an application for an internal secondment  :embarrassed:

That was lunchtime by the time I got a chance to take one! :zoinks:

In theory as this is an internal post at 0.4fte, it won't have a marked increase in my workload as I'll be split 0.4 this, 0.6 teaching but the extra £4k a year makes me think otherwise :embarrassed:

Not that I'm assuming I've got it but I've a decent inkling that one of the jobs (there are 2) has been geared specifically towards me taking it up :thu:

Sitting in taxi getting slowly roasted. Working on a bank holiday when everyonr else is outside enjoying REFRESHING BEERS

If it makes you feel any better, wok, I'm in the office all day looking out the window at glorious blue skies.

Can wait to get home for a REFRESHING LAGER BEER.

Had A LOT of refreshing lager beers over the weekend, and a few tonight watching the game.

Kenny McLean is getting his balls kicked next time he shows his face around here. :embarrassed:

Absolutely floored with a head cold - couldn't sleep last night then sleep until 3pm so I'll probably be up all night again

Tried to be a diligent employee so sent my boss an e-mail saying I'm burst and probably won't make it in tomorrow either when I finally got up.

"Really sorry to hear that. BTW can you go to high powered meeting X with government body Y in Stirling next week?"

Sidenote - in total unsurprising results from the GDS Scotland out scumbags the rest of the UK in just about every way: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/...ore-drugs-than-any-other-country-in-the-world

Still bunged up but I don't feel as bad as yesterday so will get back to work tomorrow.

So bored sitting around the house I've ended up getting stuck into my essay that got put on the back burner and I'll have it done by dinner time. If I ever ended up on the brew I'd need to take up ultramarathons or something to keep my occupied.

Sitting in taxi in the sun feeling a bit down in dumps today. Feel like getting drunk on REFRESHING LAGER BEERS.

Had a good weekend though, had a lot of fun with my daughter in Edinburgh yesterday.

Had a date on Friday evening, which made me realise:

- Dating is not my scene
- I am not over last gf
- I need to get laid
