Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

I bought a Macbook for DJing just before Christmas. It's still sitting under the telly unit unopened
I think Apple hardware is amazing and I love the OS. I've got nothing but good experiences with the computers and their warranty policy (my only gripe is the charger cables which are absolute garbage for some insane reason). But the stuff they've got now is just too dated and mediocre for me to justify spending that kind of money on. The macbook pro's currently on offer are just not a serious upgrade over my 2011 machine unless you go for the top 15" model. Mac pro's haven't been properly updated since 2013. Screw that...

Macbook Pro's are really powerful and the OS is great. But they're shit hardware. Put even the tiniest stress on them and the fans go ballistic. Pretty, but impractical.

would still prefer it for recording over any winblows machine

That's not really an issue any longer as long as you use good interfaces with great drivers.
More often than not the machine itself isn't the problem.

The only time I've ever had any issues with Windows machines is with ginormous track counts/fx while mixing, which can cause any machine problems if you don't have enough memory/processing power.

Win10 is great for recording btw.

:embarrassed:

Rehearsal today with my old band, the first I was in as a teenager about 25 years ago.
Doing a reunion gig next weekend.

Myself, the bass player and one of the guitarists are still active players so the base should be ok, will be interesting to see how out the other two are after about 10 years off. :embarrassed:

Oi oi. Was in Manchester for a stag do at the weekend.

Took it reasonably sensible unlike the, lets stay up till9 in the morning doing cheap coke contingent. Needless to say I escaped a lot more unharmed than them

Afternoon all.

Video evidence required please, to confirm if it's  or this :rawk:

Take you were doing the expensive coke then?

Left work at noon to go yo my bed with a bad cold. Ugh

Cold mojo.

Was walking down the street today and who should I come across but Bobby Gillespie. Coming out of an independent record shop with a bag of vinyl. Good man :thu:

As star struck as was I studiously ignored him. London, innit. :embarrassed:

That and he's a complete bell end?

I have decided that I fecking hate gardening. You put hours of hard labour in, and it still looks like shit

Leaving NL on friday, feeling kidna melancholic. I kind of like the idea of going home again, and the sort of no stress, no responsibility life I've been living the past 2 months can't last forever... But it's been a blast and as usual way too much stuff I wanted to do didn't happen...

Afternoon all, TFI Friday. wave0

Trying a new Mexican restaurant with the Mrs tonight for date night. Hopefully, good food awaits. eat0

Missus is away sailing with her work. I dint even care if that's a euphamism, I'm having a few pints, getting a chippy in then listening to some classic late 80s Tina Turner in the hot tub

I cant even remember the last time they had an old firm game on a Saturday and I'm DJing an all fay wedding

Got back home tonight, feels weird after spending almost two months with my parents and meeting people... But I have about 4 litres of great whisky to drown my sorrows :embarrassed:

Bought myself a nice computer monitor today. Project hackintosh is officially done now. It's fucking amazing being able to work properly again, not have to think about what programs you might need to close before opening something else. It's really nice to be able to edit an image and have all the other stuff that I need for the same project open at the same time. Especially since procrastinating is one of my stronger points having less excuses to do stuff later is very good for me :embarrassed:
