Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Even though the Dutch are quite dire at the moment, the fact that Iceland beat us twice and finished top of the qualifying group which included Holland, the Czech Republic and Turkey should already been a warning.

It annoys me to no end that all the media is talking how England blew it. Nobody gives much credit to Iceland

Iceland were far and away the better team. TEAM being the operative word, with a load of pride in playing for their country and a desire to work for their team mates.

To be honest, nobody should be surprised by the England performance. It's pretty standard for England to go out in either the quarter finals or the last 16. Last world cup was even worse with not even getting out of the group. I don't think I could honestly say that I've seen an England team where everyone is clearly proud to put that shirt on for their country since '96. Some players obviously do take it seriously but I can't help feeling that some are just turning up to add it to their CV for the transfer market - oh yeah I'm an International...

As a non football fan, what does the manager really have to do with the players performance? Everyone blaming the manager when its the guys on the pitch doing the shoddy work? :embarrassed:

It's mostly the players but he made some really stupid decisions. Having his main centre forward taking corners. Not preparing for Icelands not so secret weapon of using long throws. Not knowing his best tactics let alone his best team going into the first game. He suffered in particular when compared to Icelands manager who is an old friend of his and has his team really well organised and pulled a tactical surprise by attacking Engerland.

All in all, great job Roy :thu:

And joke of the day - Iceland 2, Poundland 1 rotflmao

It was the same during the qualifiers, they work together amazingly, fight like lions and have some players with enough skill to make all that hard work go somewhere. The discussion in the Netherlands turned more about why the fuck Iceland is capable of putting such a team together and the Netherlands isn't at the moment and how that should be "fixed".

Great to see them play though, I look forward to the next match.

So Boris dumps us in the shit and doesn't even have the balls to stay and clean up the mess. What a tosser

Boros, a tosser???

Its a bad fucking day when you realise just about anyone that takes over I going to be a smarmier prick than Cameron.

I mght not come back from Jamaica :embarrassed:

Anyone surprised by that? Boris tried to one-up Cameron, he never expected (or wanted) exit to go ahead. He will now let someone lese mop up the mess he made. Whoever that is will be in a shit position. Boris will be back when the time is right (when everyone has forgotten about his lies)

It's nice of him to make his exit statement clear after pretty much every country in the EU told the UK they can't have the sweet without the sour. Makes his naive, ridiculous and idiotic talk about the Brexit finally obvious to the general public.

A week on and still pissed off

and my Facebook keeps getting flooded by gloating smug leave voters

That's why I'm not on Facebook. Gave up after an afternoon a few years ago. I don't want to listen to the internal monologue of eejits.

It's raining like the world's going to end here. Had a good streak of partying, drinking and meeting people. Now it's time for some quiet sitting inside playing videogames.

How are those websites coming along? cop0

They're FIIIIIIIINEEEE :P

Nah, two of them are done (and paid for :thu: ), one is nearly done, having a meeting with the client in NL when I'm there to go over the final details, should be done in a week after that.

Another week of not getting up to much. I drank beer in the forest with the GF, did some cleaning up and organising papers and whatnot around the house and ignored humanity for a few days.

Tomorrow's my birthday, people coming over, so ignoring human interaction will end...
