Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

I wake up, get my morning coffee, and check FB. Some idiot of course felt the need to spoil last night's Game of Thrones, by just blurting it out in one short sentence. Great way to start the day.

Well, CoF, since you asked...

My kids have their year-end exams this week, so I spent most of the weekend helping my son to revise. My daughter's a braniac, so she doesn't really need my help. Any other time was spent packing, since we're starting to move flat at the end of the week (not back to the UK just yet, just to another flat temporarily till we move over).

How were everybody else's weekends?

noon

Had a fairly chilled weekend, some pottering about in and around the house, spenidng some time with my daughter, groceries...

afternoon
Friday: family funeral
Saturday: cricket rained off
Sunday: lost at cricket

weekends have been better.

Friday - finished phase one of hot tub deck project, tested it's strength but getting the hammock out and having a good relaxing night.

Saturday - Went out to celebrate world gin day with the missus. This consisted of drinking lots of really expensive gins in a beer brewery  and then spending a couple of awesome hours in a proper hard old mans pub I nipped in to have a quick pee. Started the sesh with some dude in the toilet trying to fight me and by time we left Ms JBJ had been invited to the Wednesday afternoon karaoke club (apparently it's much better than Saturdays karaoke) and the dude who wanted to fight me gave me a big hug, told me I was a great singer and told me I was to come back next week

Sunday: Pottered around the house doing stuff. Was meant to be DJing last night but passed it on to my brother. Glad i did, I'd have been useless in work today if I had done it

Fucking Foos cancelled

Now I've got to find something to do in London in a Friday night with some old drinking buddies.:embarrassed:

Oh crikey, the builders are here!
Our project has (rather more suddenly than expected) shifted from the abstract to the concrete.
Decisions must be made... ogodogodogodogodogod. panic0
Head esplosion in 10... 9...

Sucks man, I saw them a couple of years back (holy shit I'm getting old, might be close to 10 years ago  ) and they were absolutely epic live. Even though I like pretty much everything else Grohl did a lot more than the Foo Fighters the energy and full out joy of that gig was awesome. Hope you get to see them another time.

The answer is magnolia....

Home maintenance, one of the main reasons I am not likely to ever buy a house :embarrassed:

Morning all.

Somewhat to my relief, the builders are back this morning. I was worried that they might have been scared off: Yesterday I knocked the door of our elderly neighbours (who have lived there and known mrs_huge since she was born), to let them know that the work was finally starting and to introduce them to the chaps. "Alma, this is Seth and Dan who will be doing our building. You'll be seeing a lot of them over the next few weeks." I've never seen Alma (83 and considerably stooped) move so fast; three paces down the drive and she grabbed hold of Dan's upper arm, "Oooh, this one's nice. Can I keep him?" and cackled alarmingly.

Morning all. wave0

My holiday to Crete in a couple of months time is looking financially "interesting" this morning. I always take some cash going abroad but normally spend on a particular credit card as it gives me a better exchange rate as well as lowers the risk of carrying large amounts of dosh around. Looks like this time it's cash or nothing at the moment.
