Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

I've yet to hear his work with Wilson, but I hear it's quality. Aristocats, I like, but I can't really bond with their music the way I hoped. Been a fan of Lane, Hellborg, Sipe for years now, and I was sorta expecting this trio to do something similar. I guess the anticipation coloured my subsequent impression.

Still a fan, just not as much as I'd hoped.

Their music takes a while getting into really, not least because large portions of their stuff are quite weird and has LOADS of improvisation. The "Boing, We'll Do it Live" album has gotten a lot of spins for me, I really prefer them live compared to their studio albums. Something about their energy and onstage communication that doesn't really translate well into the studio perhaps. They really do their own thing rather than the typical guitar hero with a backing band stuff, if that makes sense.
 
Agreed about the live stuff, their live recordings get WAY more playtime than the studio albums. Fortunately, there are many good bootleg recordings, in addition to the official ones, so we get to enjoy all the delightful improv.
 
It was fucked as soon as that wee lassie died on pills last year.

On a slightly related note, my local is apparently going up for sale. I was all for becoming the lord of the manor until I thought about the implications of spending my whole days behind a bar.

the fact the current guvnor is veering frod nearly passed out on a stool to full on belligerency toward his loyal patrons while I have a quiet post work pint backs up my assumption it's not a vocation to take on lightly.

These places court enough attention that as
soon as the authorities get half a chance they hammer the place. Not nice and a shame but that's the reality of it.

they'd do the exact same with the mcdonalds next door if they could pull them on a licence violation.

My sister's been doing her best to edumacate me and my poor siblings about the various qualities of those wee lads.

Now, Five Seconds of Summer are trying to battle 1D in my dear sister's heart. Best of luck, I can't tell 'em apart.
 
Morning. How was the weekend? I had a great BBQ on friday. Saturday me and the GF bought some videogames and spent all weekend playing them :embarrassed:
