P-100s have hum cancelling qualities, if I recall correctly. I think there is a second coil in the pickup like in a humbucker, but it retains the sonic qualities of a P-90. Or at least close to the sound of a P-90. Many people dislike or hate P-100s.

I dislike. I had a LP Special w/P-100's, and they sound like what they are-- a humbucker. I sold mine. During its brief tenure:

The one I have incoming looks just like it (except for having neck binding), but has proper P-90's.

My P90 guitar of another time. It was sad to see it go but I made a hefty profit flipping it and it seemed to be going to a good owner.

I know. I'm just broke as all fuck this month. I've had to buy a copy machine, stove, new bedroom sets for both kids, Christmas and I lost more than a weeks worth of revenue due to the holidays this year. :(

I always preferred the Misfits

I don't own a guitar with p90s, and can't recall if I have ever even played one.
being that most of my stuff is what it is, I'm more of a humbucker guy, I guess...

though a Reverend would be welcome in my collection.

P90's would be killer for the kind of stuff you do. P90's do "angry" very well.
