1979 The Paul with BG Pure 90's.
 
I have never even played one, but i think i really should make that my next purchase.
 
I'm so curious about them. I really want to roll back the volume on a neck P90 and see how it compares to a humbucker.

I am, too. I didn't like my last one, but it might have just been that particular guitar. Meanwhile the P90 GAS has returned. I played a Les Paul Special today that really got my mojo workin'.
 
Les Paul Special. It originally came with P-100's, but I replaced the bridge pickup with a Gibson P-90.

P-100s have hum cancelling qualities, if I recall correctly. I think there is a second coil in the pickup like in a humbucker, but it retains the sonic qualities of a P-90. Or at least close to the sound of a P-90. Many people dislike or hate P-100s.
