Played my first round of golf today

Got a 93 yesterday with 2 blowup holes. Personal best.
got up this morning to a dusting of snow on the grass. no golf today.
but.....next week is in the mid 40's to mid/upper 50's.
not to jinx myself, but we may finally be truning the corner.

we've had either rain or snow every week, with 15-20/30 mph winds this whole month.
i played 4 rounds from end of Jan and thru Feb. but nothing since Feb.
Sorry bout the bad weather. Going out tomorrow at 9. Hopefully it stops raining soon.

well, i guess it's going to be mid april before i get back on a golf course.
weather prediction is rain for the next 11 out of 14 days.
:gah::gah::gah::gah:

finally got 9 in yesterday. low 50's with a 10 mph wind, so not uncomfortable.
shot a 47 with 2 boogered up holes. took a 6 on the par 3 7th.
got in the sand off the tee, and the traps have NOT been tended at all, so really couldn't get the club under the ball.
took 3 hits to get out
otherwise, not too bad.
the brand new Mavrik 3 wood did pretty well :houra:

Honestly, i blow up par 3 holes almost exclusively.

Played Rancho Bernardo Inn today. I had so many bad Tee shots, but I was hitting my hybrid clubs really well, especially in the rough. I had a lucky shot go right between the branches of a tree.

this one happened a couple years ago. ball landed in a pine tree branch.

played 9 today. shot a 43. not too bad. a few bad hits but nothing unrecoverable. NO LOST BALLS!!!!
10-15 mph wind at around 55°F. so a little cool.

got a tee time for tomorrow, playing 18.

they have a discount card you can buy for $60, for the whole season.
you get $5 off 9 holes and $14 off 18 holes and when you buy the card, that round is free.
so $38 for 18 free, right off the bat. you've made half your money back already.

and it's a course i play all the time anyway. so i'm buying one tomorrow.
it's kinda like having a minor membership.

went to play 9 again today, also bought the discount card, so today's round was free.
but between the 4th hole and 6th hole, the temp dropped to 40°F, sky got dark and we started getting rain AND hail
i got out of there and came home.
i don't get paid to play in those conditions

Played Torrey Pines North yesterday. My tee shots were terrible again, but I had a decent front 9 thanks to some great short game play and putting. I 1 putted the first 4 holes, which was totally awesome. The back 9 was a total disaster, so I carded 116 for the round.

you should be able to knock off 5 to 8 strokes just because it's Torrey.

Played a round at Tecolote Canyon yesterday with my wife. I had more good shots than bad ones, and got sooo close to getting a birdie on the 9th hole. I'm starting to see small improvements to my game.

played friday and monday.
friday's round (9 holes) was not so great. shot a 52

but monday's round was better, at 42.
on monday's round, on the par 4, 9th hole (i usually only play 9 per round), i hit a crazy drive (for me), out around 255 yards.
then a 125 yard pitch and a 15 foot uphill putt for BIRDIE!!!
i think that's the first one of 2023.

I played 18 at Torrey yesterday. I didn't hit a single fairway off the tee until the 18th hole when I got every bit of my 3-wood. My swing was off yesterday, and I couldn't seem to find the right tempo to get solid shots off the deck. My putting was pretty solid, and my short game was good, and I even had some good shots out of the green-side bunkers.

Oddly enough I played Riverwalk ( in Mission Valley, San Diego) a couple weeks ago, and my iron play was quite good then.

Golf.
