Ryan will not rise up in the line of succession unless Trump and Pence both lose their jobs simultaneously.

25th Amendment says that the Pres appoints a new Congress-approved VP. Nixon appointed Gerald Ford after Spiro Agnew resigned. Gerald Ford appointed Nelson Rockefeller after Nixon resigned.

I don't think that Pence would be as scary as Trump. He's a POS, sure, but I don't think that he's as unhinged. Plus the fact that, following Trump's removal from office, he would have very weak political capital, with elections incoming.

I agree BUT, with Pence we wouldn't have the weekly, sometimes daily clusterfucks slowing down their agenda.

Yeah, there was something too good to be true about him...and there was. Imagine had he somehow pulled the nomination in 2008 and THEN the bombshell was dropped?!? It would have essentially destroyed the Democratic party for several Presidential terms. Part of me thinks it may have been worth it as it would have prevented Trump from being in the Oval Office today, except possibly as a visitor (even that's a terrible thought).
 
An interesting summary of the last days revelations. There is also some information that Pence was briefed on Flynn back in January, so his story of knowing nothing is kind of unraveling. This his kind off places him in the middle of the mess, making him taking over as president a lot less likely if Trump gets sacked. The site is not really a news source, and clearly left bias, but a fun read anyway. Lots of hotlinks to news sources that have a bit more credibility.

And McDonell was a corrupt a governor as we've had since I've lived in VA (since 1999). Among the most corrupt in the U.S. for a few decades. And our Senators are Warner and Kaine...even Webb was a Democrat. Northern Virginia and many of the University towns/cities have made VA blue for more than a decade, despite a massive military population that is almost exclusively all about the GOP. Which I always find confusing...the last two GOP presidents avoided any or any real military service. They had no intention of risking their lives for this nation, but have both been put in the position to risk ALL of our lives for their twisted idea of this nation.
