I agree. But I always like to read the conspiracy theories. They run from somewhat plausible to tin foil hat.
did you mean "comb over hat"?

The next couple of years are going to be shit, no matter what. I'd still love to see Trump humiliated, though. He would almost certainly be a top candidate for worst president ever, were he removed from office in his first year. He'd love that.
IDK. The real question is how all of this will influence the 2018 and 2020 elections. Will it motivate liberals, or will there be intense conservative backlash since they would view it as a witch hunt against their hero.

My point is that I wanted to continue to believe in John Edwards. His actions as an an attorney and as a politicians were things I generally supported. His actions as s human, however, were shit. I wanted Obama to accomplish more. I wanted Trump to lose and lose badly. I want chocolate to be healthy. I want to be told I'm handsome and be handed money. These are things I'd love to hear, but I'm not willing to deny truth and reality. Doing that is the act of simpletons and morons...in the case of Trump supporters these asshats are dangerous.
I disagree with your second point. Yes, they wanted power, but they clearly didn't take Trump seriously. They clearly didn't want him as their candidate. Like the left, they thought he'd self destruct, that as he kept more outlandish hateful diatribes that the people would turn and run, not walk, away from him to a someone like Jeb. As I've mentioned, the pundits were on tv, radio, and writing about how the GOP was looking towards the future through the summer and into October to figure out how to "right" the ship. They had no faith in Trump's ability to win and generally didn't support the platform on which he ran. What they did do, however, was rally behind him following the upset. These worthless dipshits compromised just about everything they've claim to stand for to support the man the ran under their party and won the White House. Again, party before nation...the shit that almost destroyed the U.S. before it reached its first quarter century.
The system isn't the issues, it's the players. Right now, as with the past few decades, the GOP players aren't playing for a national victory, they are playing for a perceived GOP victory. They haven't even tried to run on a platform of progress and improvement. It's all about undoing the work of the Democrats and demonizing any policy or program that doesn't support the failed theory of trickle down economics. As always, fuck them and their supporters.

perhaps we NEED a "comb over" emoji ?? as long as it's really silly looking, you know, like that comb over actually looks....especially in the wind. No, I just like using this emoji
Besides, if shit hits the fan, Trump will resign and Pence will pardon him ala Nixon and Ford.
way too optimistic. after the wingnut turn out in 2016, and the empowerment of the wingnuts by the win, and the rhetoric, etc., they will be in even bigger numbers in 2018.I'm hoping it will make the right think there is no point in voting since their person will be kicked out. Sorry, I'm in an optimistic mood today
it is seemingly a lot less 'temporary', every day.To paraphrase Ford: "Our long national bout of temporary insanity is over "?
If Mensch is right, and Schneiderman has RICO in his pocket, it's going to be very interesting. I'm just here with the popcorn.
so i get why they called it watergate.
