I heard on CNN that the rumor circulating around the Hill is if a special prosecutor or an independent investigation panel/commission would be the appropriate action to take on the Trump obstruction issues. It seems quite a few republicans are planning which of these options would be best, which is quite different than debating if they should or should not address the issue or just handle it internally, which is where they were last week. Ten days ago they refused to recognize an issue even existed. It seems that several republicans are convinced there is no avoiding an official and legit investigation at this point. The discussion suggested this was among the party core/leaders, and not those previously critical of Trump.

you HAVE to know that there are some intel people out there that KNOW what contacts were made between cheeto/admin/campaign and the ruskies.
somehow, they NEED to be called before a full congressional investigation. they can't come forward independently. they need to be called up.
whatever procedure that may need to be.

It’s possible that they already have been. The people wiretapping foreign governments aren’t going to testify in public. They probably won’t even testify in a closed door hearing to the intelligence committee. If they talk it will probably be unannounced and outside the capitol.

So not sure if this is national, but I just sent letters to both of my state's Senators on the recent issues by texting to 50409 the message "RESIST" and then then using the bot to create a letter. I wrote saying that even if we disagree on some policy, surely we agree that the law of the land must be upheld and that the American people need to know the truth via independent inquiry, due to impending constitutional crisis, and requested that they stand up and demand one. Unfortunately, at the same time, Risch was quoted on FB as blaming it all on the leaks and not the disclosures.

But, maybe try it out! Doesn't take long.

Single Payer back in the NYS State Assembly. Time to call some state legislators.

That has no chance of passing. People are already leaving Brooklyn in droves. Tell New Yorkers that they have to pay for a single-payer system that covers the unpopular 400,000+ people living in public housing and the exodus will spread to Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx overnight. New York’s economy would take a huge hit and taxes would have to rise to cover the poor as more and more middle and upper-class residents flee.

I’m not against single-payer, but New York isn’t a place where it will work on a state level. It has to come from the Federal level to work.

Here it is:

Wow. First it was the Daily Wire, and now the National Review. What is this world coming to?
http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/447696/comey-memo-allegation-serious-and-there-no-good-outcome

The analysis here is pretty simple. If the memo exists, then there is compelling evidence that the president committed a potentially impeachable offense. Here is the alleged chain of events: First, Trump asked Comey to drop an investigation of a close former associate and a former senior official in his administration. Second, Comey refused. Third, weeks later Trump fired Comey. Fourth, Trump then misled the American people regarding the reason for the dismissal. Each prong is important, but it’s worth noting that the fourth prong — Trump’s deception regarding the reason for Comey’s termination — is particularly problematic in context. Deception is classic evidence of malign intent.

If true, this is a serious abuse of power, and a Republican Congress would certainly impeach a Democrat if the roles were reversed. [snip]

Yeah, I read that Crains article too. I'm 100% certain the payroll tax that would be levied will be far less than what we pay for insurance every month. New York is never a good incubator. If Cuomo actually wants it done, it'll happen. Personally, I think it will die in the Senate, just like the last two times. But it's worth fighting for.

Every other day: Read/hear what Trump has done. Think to self: Finally it's over. Then I remember, congress won't do anything, they are the ones that wouldn't give Obama his Supreme court justice. The law/constitution means nothing to them. Then Trump does something worse: Fuck. Pence is the VP.

Hasn't that been their plan all along?

This has to be bad if an utter piece of crap like Chaffetz is looking into it. Of course, that douche nozzle might be looking for the evidence so he knows how big of a hole he needs to dig for it.

Thats the thing I always say when the first criticism is the cost of single payer. If we shift what is already being paid out of our paychecks for insurance, it shouldn't cost much more if any. Factor in the billions of profits the insurance companies make and it should cover it all.
