OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

Not likely. Notice that Pence has been VERY distanced from Trump. Pence is never involved in any Trump policies. He's never mentioned by Trump. He's never even photographed with Trump.

I don't know if it is the party's doing, or Pence's doing, but it is clear that Pence is being kept at arm's length from Trump and the rest of Trump's circus. When Flynn was fired, it was publicly stated that the reason was Flynn lied to Pence about his Russian ties - thus enforcing the public impression that Pence knew nothing about possible Russian ties.

I don't think any of this is accidental.

Apropos of nothing I'll just leave this here

A lot of the press have said that Pence spends a lot of time in the White House.

He might very well, but what I'm saying is that the party (or Pence himself) is creating the public appearance of Pence being very much isolated from Trump and the flying monkey brigade.

I'm thinking maybe that's no accident. Maybe the party is hoping to keep Pence "clean" so that if the Russia allegations start to stick and Trump goes (either voluntarily or involuntarily), Pence would still be viable as a replacement.

Hell, maybe Trump himself is trying to keep Pence viable for the white house. He could be planning on a Nixon/Ford "I'll resign if you pardon me" deal in case things go south.

why do people want trump impeached?!?

pence would be way worse. he would actually get stuff done.

trump is one fuck up after another that basically gridlocks their agenda.

i think him suffering and failing in this position he thought would be easy is hilarious and greatly want it to continue vs having pence in charge.

Part of me wants the buffoonery to continue as long as necessary for his voters to have to admit their mistake.

Although that might not be possible, short of him nuking one of our own cities or something. And even then, they might still find something to blame it on besides him.

YES!!!
cheeto is a bumbling idiot with big (and pretty bad) ideas, that are largely undoable. Pence WOULD get things done and they would be way worse.
he's the one who started the "religious liberty" laws in indiana. he would do that nationally, if in power. in his mind god is above all else and any cost.
the problem is.....that is HIS version of god. bad juju

I'm not so sure.

If Trump were to be removed from office, I would think that it would be a major influence on the midterm elections.

Not exactly sure which way.

I think the biggest threat of Trump is his access to the military and ability to start wars (of course Congress has to ratify within 3 months).

But yes, on domestic and environmental policies Pence, Ryan, and Cruz are scary as all hell. People who believe in talking snakes and coming apocalypses couldn't care less about the environment. Why would they? Evil twin Jesus is going to destroy everything anyway.

yea.....but if he takes military action the right way.....the retaliation will guarantee a congressional approval for war.

you mean if he follows the correct procedures? Yes. But Trump is more likely than any other current Republican leader to do something on impulse or a whim. 50/50 it's a good or bad thing, there's no rhyme or reason to the issues he latches on to (except that television and social media probably capture more of his attention than any intelligence briefings which are too long for his attention span and go over his head). One thing for sure, he doesn't have the patience for policies that take time, like sanctions. He always needs immediate gratification because of the short attention span and inability to focus. It is really like having a retard at the helm (I hate to use that word, but mean it literally - idiot does not convey the meaning I'm trying to get across adequately). We've stopped using that word for people with mental handicaps, let's only use it for Trump.
