OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

I'd add term limits.

Public service should be about serving the public not getting wined and dined and making 100s of thousands of dollars for speaking engagements.

When I say take away the money, I don't just mean campaign contributions, I mean all of it. No speaking fees while in office, no getting diner tabs picked up by lobbyists, nothing. I have a like/dislike of term limits. There are some folks who have been in office for years and still work hard and do represent their constituencies and I wouldn't like to see them taken out of office, but for the most part, they could all be one and done.

I don't think they're supposed to get dinner tabs picked up by lobbyists now, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I've seen House of Cards. I'm an expert.

I'm told the problem with one and done is the staffers would run things. I say two and through.

"Students at Emory University claim they were frightened and 'in pain' after someone wrote 'Trump 2016' in chalk around campus.

Officials at the Atlanta school, which has an enrollment of more than 14,000, were forced to act after the youngsters claimed their 'safe space' was violated when the messages of 'hate' appeared on sidewalks and buildings.

One student even said she 'feared for her life' as she thought a 'KKK rally' was going on, while others were scared a mass shooting was going to take place and wouldn't walk alone.

Jim Wagner, president of the 19th century establishment, wrote Tuesday that the students viewed the scrawling as intimidation, and they voiced 'genuine concern and pain' as a result."

I too have attended House of Cards university. If it wasn't for netlflix, I don't know how any of us would know anything about politics. But I, like Sarah Palin, have one advantage over you, I can practically see DC from my back yard, so I really am an expert on congress, just like seeing Russia from her back yard makes her an expert on foreign affairs.

Is this a stump speech. I feel like this is a stump speech. I feel like it might be too late to enter the shit show, but maybe not.

Curious to know if anybody else did a double take at triggers?

I think there are ways to do it but the hardest issue is to find a way for us to stop being so caught up in Trump vs. Hillary or D vs. R.

Pay no attention to the man (special interests, megacorp's and their lobbyists) behind the curtain.

And this is scarier than all of it. If it is at all true anyway. I'm guessing manufactured news story. If true, wiping out humans might be our only chance.

I refuse to believe that any candidate, including Bernie, is in this for us. That being the case I am always shocked at how enthusiastically seemingly intelligent people will support a candidate. At some point I think we need to understand that we need to stop worrying so much about who sits in the oval office and turn our energy toward actual government reform.

I've heard the term campaign reform and I assume it can mean many things to many people but until there is a way to keep money and special interest from running the government, we all lose. Someone other than the government should take a serious look at campaign financing, term limits, pet projects, compensation packages for legislators, etc. Maybe the fact that we are in a position where our choices for President are what they are can be a big enough push to get people to take a look at what changes would actually make things better for people. I don't have high hopes just watching people support these candidates with such passion.

Oh yeah? Well I think every candidate plus infinity isn't in this for us.

I win.

It’s probably true and manufactured. There’s an ugly manufactured outrage cycle behind this. The Daily Beast is one of the worst perpetrators.

  • Media outlets run liberal op ed essays about privilege, racism, and safe spaces on campus.
  • Student and faculty activists regurgitate it into campus newspapers.
  • Riled up student activists get control of student government
  • Someone gets offended, takes it to campus paper, it blows up on campus
  • Student government turns it into liberal social media outrage
  • Same media outlets run news coverage
  • School caves to avoid losing funding in case campaign targets donors and board members
  • Media outlets run conservative op ed essays about death of free speech on campus
  • School now has angry conservative social media outrage
  • Someone gets offended again. Repeat until important dean or president of Uni resigns
  • Same media outlets run news coverage
  • Repeat at another school
