Northeasterners: What say you of this Mother of all Storms approaching?

Looks like all paths are leading right over the Delmarva/Jersey/Central PA region so let us discuss the repercussions of such a storm. I for one am loading up on ammo and seeds for when the inevitable Stormpocalypse wipes out the grid and we must start anew.

I bought a generator last year, which means that we will never have a power outage again.

Seriously tho - I'm gonna wait and see. If the forecast looks uber nasty by sunday or monday, I'll prolly fill up some water jugs for drinking water. Fill up the bathtub for toilet flushing water. Get some gas for the generator and propane for the grill.

Not much else you can do really.

I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen too many dire predictions that turn into nothing in my life to get too upset. I'll make sure I have gas in the car and batteries in the flashlight; but I'll go about my normal life.

Two thoughts...

First, mojo for anyone in the actual path of the hurricane. Been through a few myself. Most turned out to be much ado about nothing, until I had my life turned completely upsidedown by Hurricane Ike. Very bad times.

Second, we have three cats, the smallest of which is a little troublemaker named Sandy, so my wife and I have had a good laugh over the naming of this particular storm.

Then you and your banjo shall be LEFT BEHIND

Weather.com is my #3 site hit on the network today so that says something about how concerned everyone is

I should just cancel my Monday lesson with Mark now. As soon as a squirrel farts our power goes out.

It's not my first hurricane...

...tomorrow morning gas tanks will be filled, kerosene for heaters will be topped off, propane for grill will be filled, the yard will be policed for loose objects that could blow away, batteries will be checked in flashlights and radios, and a loaf of bread and bottle of milk will be picked up...

They are expected to declare the entire state of NY in a state of emergency sometime monday morning, which means I will be off work...

Bring it on...
