fwiw, the sights in the right side pic above are XS Big Dots but there are a number of variations on that style, including Ameriglo CAPs.
My pic or another? The Kahr in the picture just has stock painted front and back. I have a set of XS small dot that are Tritium front and back.
TBH, I wish I had only gotten the front Tritium. The back is difficult to see indoor range.

Post should have said "are like"

Personally I'm not a huge fan of the big dot style in general which emphasize sight acquisition speed at the expense of accuracy..which isn't a big priority to me

Exactly. Everyone tried to sell me on the Big Dot and I just didn't see that it was a better option.

FYI for anyone considering a Shield: S&W is doing a $75 rebate starting Apr 1 on any shield, putting the price about $250 if you buy online. That's a damn good deal.

That's a great deal. But I'm avoiding distractions until I can see, and hopefully shoot, a CZ P10 and VP9sk.

I don't remember how long it's been going on but both S&w and Ruger have been doing frequent distributor discounts that are often passed on to the retail and customer so if you miss this one, there will prob be another in a few months

I just bought a Browning Buck Mark Camper online, Browning is currently offering a $50 rebate so I finally jumped. Been wanting one for years, will post pics once it arrives.

That shield deal is a bargain.

I can't buy any more guns and what I have is going into storage at my mom's place until I can get all my "import guns into Switzerland" paperwork finished. I have to do it after I have a residence permit, and in person, so it might take a while. Of course, once I get it I can immediately purchase a Swiss SIG STG90 as well.

I'm jealous. Where are you emigrating from?

Congrats. I understand immigration isn't the easiest process for Switzerland.

It is pretty much impossible unless you have a company to sponsor your work visa/residence permit. You also have to supply a skill not available in the Swiss or EU worker pool, so that really limits the people that can move there. The Swiss govt. can also decide that your skill is not necessary in their country and deny your permits, even if it is unique. I think when a Swiss company is pushing things forward it is pretty straightforward. They have lawyers that specialize in this, and they likely have the 'home field advantage'. It is impossible if you try to do it alone. You can't go there without a job, unless you have considerable wealth and can prove you do not need to work. Of course, this is all from the US perspective. Cross border workers and EU people have less of a problem, but there are still issues and you still need work permits and approval of the Swiss govt.

I used to work with an engineer. He spent so much time in France and Switzerland that he decided to move. He was denied residence in Switzerland . So he lives in Northern Italy and travels as needed.

I was also wondering. Is it the sights and grip that make it a Camper? Grips look very comfortable.
Iirc...it's usually the moulded grips, parkerized finish, barrel length and no slab side. They come with either the fo front or standard sight.

I almost got a killer deal on a rosewood grip version of the target model but the guy flaked out and fell off the radar at the last minute so I grabbed a S&W Victory instead

Yep, molded grip and fiber optic sights. I was eyeing up the Victory and Mk IV as well but this was a good deal and I dig Browning stuff. Will post a range report and pics once I take it out and start plinking.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three usual suspects in the target oriented .22s.
Each one has their advantages and disadvantages but they're all plenty accurate and cheap fun.

Edit: BTW if you want some nice accurate and pretty consistent .22LR at a decent price, check out the aguila super extra standard velocity @ ammofast. I think it's probably the best non-match grade .22 SV & groups consistently tighter than CCI SV out of most everything I have.

Yeah I like the ease of takedown with the Victory/Mk IV but for how much I have to take it apart it's not a deal-breaker. I bought various bricks of cheap 22lr the past few years, nothing great but I have a lot of it. I'll mainly shoot targets for fun with it, excited to shoot several mags without watching dollar signs fly downrange.
