How four officials on the ice missed that obvious hand pass is beyond me. Even the goal scorer didn’t initially celebrate his goal because he knew it was a hand pass.

I like how the NHL showed the winning goal but was sure to edit out the HAND PASS on their website.

It’s funny that the HAND PASSER received an assist for his HAND PASS!

I predict the Blues will either stomp them 3 in a row fueled by anger or fold like lawn chairs and we’ll have to try again next year.

I don’t know how people could bet real money on NHL games with the shitty and possible crooked officiating. It’s like betting on WWE wrestling without the pre”fight” script.

What the hell do you have against Thornton? Cheap shot artist hack? No, I don't think so. Plus, Joe is known as a passer, not so much a shooter. His career numbers show a 3:1 ratio of assists to goals. That he got 2 goals last night was more about redemption from the last game, with some poor defense from the Blues added in, then about him as a goal scorer.

Joe is headed to the HOF whether you or any Blues fan likes it or not. Enjoy.

As @bsman has noted, the sharks have had their fair share of bad or missed calls, this postseason has been full of them, including the missed delay of game penalty just before the blues scored. Had they seen that and called it, one less goal for STL, and a power play for SJ. Likely wouldn't have been an OT for the zebras to screw up.

But to your point, yes the sharks have gotten some good fortune from questionable calls during this post season. So did the Knights & Avs. Maybe every callor non call should be reviewable. Or none?

Of course I am bitter. Of course he is going to the hall of fame. He is a cheap shot artist with his stick and a known head hunter. He took perron out for 100 games with a cheap shot to the head. Fuck him!(unless his is on my team).

If the Blues aren’t motivated by the handing of the game to old Joe and the Sharks then they don’t deserve to win a conference final. The sharks didn’t deserve to make it out of the first OR second round.

I predict a stomping of the Sharks Friday. A greater than four goal margin. They will need to score a few extra to compensate for the goals that the refs will likely give the Sharks.
 
Also, if the Sharks go on to win the cup maybe there should be an asterisk stating they were NHL assisted victories in each round. They seem more than lucky at this point.
 
I cannot imagine the Canes losing tonight. Truly. My one wish is that no one on the Bruins is hurt now that Wagner's gone. Acciari is coming back, and his timing's perfect.
 
Bruins looking more like their February incarnation than the hideousness of April. People talk about rust and lack of momentum, but we've got a lot of veterans and players who would really benefit from healing time.

Rask looks furious in all of his interviews. He has every right. Boston sports radio (and print) has some horrible, terrible media types who pick on him ceaselessly, and he has to be enjoying this. Good for him.
 
I don't think the Canes were underwhelming; I think they ran into a disciplined team that didn't allow them space. When I watch the Western Conference games, I just see so much permissiveness between the blue lines; visually it looks like a gentleman's agreement to not play too hard. I recall the Ducks, Kings, etc. playing pretty tough, so I think it's just a random thing, but if they advance the Sharks are going to be in for a rude surprise.

It really boils down to Rask maintaining his momentum. I don't think he's ever been an acrobat - his game is more a matter of eliminating mistakes and execution, execution, execution.

The Canes didn't scare me, and neither the Blues nor Sharks scare me. I'm more scared of "The Toronto War Room" than the opponent. But I think at this point, they'll work harder to get stuff right simply because the NHL is becoming a laughingstock, and that's a shame.

P.S. Those who do not 'get' (or worse, don't care about) the Canada-US / Anglophone-Francophone divisions in the sport are missing out on the rich fabric of the historical context. Another "think" piece in the Toronto Sun the other day on how more Canadians are watching a cooking show (400,000) than the WCF (315,000). You know what, Toronto? Your sport is incredible, and now you must suffer the indignities suffered by ALL early participants of Things That Get Big: irrelevance. I'm sure that there are at least 1,000,000 people in NorCal alone watching the Sharks and they buy trucks, donuts, insurance, etc. I'd feel for them seeing their national identity subsumed and watered down if they weren't so Canadian-bitchy about it.

WTF are you talking about? This is Peen level drivel.

And maybe you should go back and watch Sharks/Knights games 1&2. There were no gentlemen in those games. Clearly SJ needs more of that in their game if they intend to advance and give the Bruins a run, but they do have that capability.
