National Football League 2018

BTW I hate the Cowboys. The whole organization. The whole idea of Murica’s team annoys me. And the owner is a shit.
My wife is a Cowboys fan, so I'm required to watch the games with her.

Hurns had a horrifying Theissman-level ankle break early in the game, and my wife kept replaying it over and over and over because she couldn't see what happened. After the seventh or eighth rewind I finally pointed to the screen the exact moment, and she was like "Oh! I don't want to see that!"

I rewound to see what happened too because I missed it. I was sorry that I did. Good news(?) is that I heard it was a clean break and there is no reason to believe he cannot return next year (unlike Alex Smith who's career is in doubt). I never like to see anyone get hurt

As a dyed-in-the-wool Packers fan, it was a joy to see da Bears lose. As an added bonus, my lunch buddy is a hard core Bears fan. He usually wears a Bears jacket and has been giving me shit about the Packers sucking this year and the "division-winning Bears."

Today at lunch, he wasn't wearing his Bears jacket. I asked, "Hey, where's your Bears jacket?"

"Fuck you."

Well, I guess the Chargers not only got into the playoffs, but I hear they won a playoff game.

Go figure.

LA still doesn't want them.

My tinfoil hat theory is that the Chargers and Rams will play each other in the superbowl, and the NFL will make that happen. People in LA only care about their teams when they win.

Faithless for him to not wear his gear. I am still, and will still, sport my Seahawks hat and shirts when I normally would.

Not even then.

Unless it's the Lakers.

I've been to plenty of playoff games at Dodger Stadium that were nowhere near sold out. Hell, I went to an NLCS game there without tickets and got field level, 3rd base seats at the gate. Dodger Stadium isn't exactly huge in terms of capacity either. A city that size should be able to sell 45K seats for a league championship game.

For all the shit talk about San Diego sports fans being fair weather and fickle, The Padres have sold out every post season game they've hosted in their history. Even when they played at Jack Murphy/Qualcomm with a baseball configuration capacity of 50+K seats. San Diego is 1/4 the population of LA and that population is spread out over a vastly larger area.

I'm 99.999% certain that they will.

-----

They signed a 20 year lease for LA that starts when the stadium opens in 2020. Maybe they will but it won't be until 2040. I wouldn't be surprised if San Diego gets an expansion team before the Chargers move back.
